Green Tree Inn of Elsah is a cute and comfortable bed and breakfast in a quiet, peaceful, and gorgeous little village. The rooms are nice, clean, spotless, spacious, comfortable, and darling, each with unique feel and decor and beautiful furniture. It feels like staying at a family member's house.
The hospitality is superb, kind, warm, wonderful, and inviting. The proprietors are excellent, amazing, knowledgeable hosts who make guests feel right at home. They accommodate needs and ensure guests are taken care of.
The breakfast is amazing, tasty, and one of the best, large enough to be satisfying. Sweet treats, coffee, and a special afternoon treat are also phenomenal. The experience is exemplary, perfect, and fairytale-like, whether for a weekend getaway or a wedding. The venue is beautiful for ceremonies, with a gazebo outside and a common area with natural light ideal for getting ready. It is a highly recommended and wonderful place to stay.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night, and the sad part was having to leave, as we were on our way to New York. Excellent service, a wonderful room, and a great breakfast. Fair price. It is located in a very quiet and green village—perfect for resting. I would like to come back.

Stayed 2 Nights July 30th and 31st 2026. Room clean and very comfortable. Breakfaat that was included was upscale resturant quality. The surrounding village was quiet and charming, but in a good location to pop ovwr to St. Louis or nearby Alton. Definately recommend.

What a great experience! The owner was so warm and inviting. We had a very comfortable stay! Check in was so easy! The highlight was Breakfast! We will be back for sure! A hidden gem! If you are in Elsah, this is the place to stay!
