“We couldn’t recommend Northminster Nursery School enough! My son began here in the Blue room this year and everything about his experience has been outstanding. Teachers and staff are so welcoming and genuinely love the work that they do. Classrooms are beautiful and spacious and the newly renovated outdoor playground is such a wonderful bonus. We take part in the Extended Day program which allows him a little more time away from home each day and it’s been a huge success for him so far. There are so many events for parents and families to get to know each other and the sense of community is lovely. We can’t wait for our daughter to begin in the Green room next fall! As a former early childhood educator myself, I can’t say enough good things about this school.”

They have a variety of programs to accommodate every family’s schedule. My son has blossomed in his first year at SLC and we look forward to enrolling our kids for many years to come. “Our daughter just spent the past couple of months in the infant room and I have nothing but positive things to say about her teachers. In addition to their love and care, they provided her with enriching activities to promote her cognitive, social, and motor development.

My husband and I are both teachers, so we said goodbye for the summer. On her last day, we were both so touched by the kinds words her teachers shared with us.

From the first time we toured the facility last summer, Ceci made our family feel welcomed at KindCare. On the first day we dropped our daughter off, Lupe made us feel like she was safe and in good hands. Brielle could always get a smile from our daughter and made sure to share all of her accomplishments with us. Brielle also said her laughter would sometimes wake up the other babies… so sorry about that! I always appreciated how Brielle and Lupe always took the time at pick up to describe our daughters day. They would also share observations and things we could look out for at home. Tamera and Sarah rounded out the team in the infant room and contributed the positive environment.

“Our family loves Covenant! My daughter has been going for almost 2 years now, and I can't imagine a better place for her. The teachers and staff are incredibly nurturing, warm, and developmentally-attuned. They meet children where they are, and offer the right kind of scaffolding and challenges to help them grow. I've seen my slow-to-warm little one blossom beautifully and I am so grateful to have this wonderful place right in our neighborhood. As a professional in early childhood mental health, play-based learning was very important to me, and Covenant excels at this, paired with a focus on nature. The outdoor playscape is amazing, and there are two big play areas indoors besides the classrooms. We love that we can walk to school, but the big parking lot is a plus too!”

“Unity Preschool in Evanston has been such a special part of our family’s life over the past two years. As a stay-at-home mom, sending my son to preschool at age 3 was the first time he had ever been away from me regularly, and the transition was emotional for both of us. The teachers at Unity met him with so much patience, kindness, and understanding during those early drop-offs and every transition since — whether it was returning after Christmas break, illness, or just getting back into routine. They always make him feel safe, cared for, and understood, and they make me feel confident that he is truly in good hands.

Now at 5 years old, he has made some of his very best friends there, and I’ve even made wonderful mom friends myself. He looks forward to school and is proud to tell everyone about it. The sense of community at Unity is incredibly special.

Eva, the director, pours her heart into making this school the best it can be for the children and the Evanston community. One of the things we love most is how the school teaches kindness, empathy, and community involvement from such a young age. They regularly bring in community members to teach the children about helping others and being good neighbors. Recently, Eli from Connections for the Homeless came to speak with the kids about donating items to help families in need, and on MLK Day families gathered together to make lunches for local community fridges. It feels like Unity is not only educating children, but helping raise thoughtful, compassionate little humans.
