Nobody no where in the entire USA can beat Hilo Grocery Store's Meat #1 quality and The Best Prices around for the entire stores continued business. This week unfortunately, we have been given some bad news. The latest owner has sold the business, and rumor has it that it's not going to have groceries anymore, and this IS bad news for everyone in this neighborhood especially. We have heard liquor only, will be sold from there in the near future. Devastated, deprived, and destroyed will this community become even more. So sad to see you go Hilo Grocery Store. Thank you for all of your delicious and nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables, finest meat I have ever and will have in my life, and the best mustard potato salad I will ever have and forever miss. “I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because Hy-Vee used to have more variety of products before the pandemic. While supply changes played a factor, I'm finding these products elsewhere now and Hyvee has removed the space for these items on the shelves of their stores. Some items I have asked about and been told that they have decided not to carry any more. Between that and the shift in their perks program, I'm finding it more difficult to find the brands I love on a consistent basis or on good sales.The new perks program has changed my shopping habits as well, and I'm starting to find myself shopping around for the best deals instead of the one-stop shopping I used to do. I have had the perks plus program since the beginning of this year and the changes to this program in recent months have impacted my decision to not renew it.Most staff live up to their motto of "a helpful smile in every aisle," and it shows when customers have questions or issues with products.Department staff can typically be found in aisles helping customers during the busier day hours. I prefer early morning or late night shopping to avoid crowds, so less staff is on the floor, but I know I can always ask questions at the register or customer service desk.Cashiers and front-end staff almost always check eggs if they don't ask if I have myself, and sometimes even double-check just to be sure. They typically do a good job of bagging groceries and being mindful of what is put with what. Adam has always gone above and beyond in this aspect and has become my go-to bagger whenever he is working. I know that my groceries are handled with the utmost care when he does the job.Customer service has always been helpful in remedying issues, from spoiled milk not past the due date to improperly bagged raspberries put with a cantaloupe.”

“It is a good place to get the things you need for a low price. My only complaint here is that they have a limited selection on some important items. Though you definitely can get some worthwhile deals on alot of everyday items. From trashbags to soap and all manner of Healthcare products.”

“Hyvee did a lovely job on our wedding cake and we couldn’t be happier. They communicated with us the day before and of and were timely in dropping it off. It was equally as beautiful as it was tasty and the sheet cakes were enjoyed by roughly 300 guests! I would strongly recommend the red velvet, vanilla buttercream and strawberry whipped!”

“I don't have a Hy Vee store near me so I only go to them when I travel and I will take them over Walmart. I saw the Hy Vee on the way to my hotel and I new I would be back later for some stuff for the fridge which I'm not going to bore you with. Hy Vee reminds me of Meijer with the great produce as you walk in and the great deli cases as you round the store and let's not forget the nice fresh seafood case. I was able find everything I was looking for and and get out quickly because unlike Walmart they have plenty of registers open with friendly people waiting to help you.”

“The place I shop for most of my needs in life. And I don't mind showing my receipt 's if it stops Theft! Walmart employee 's have always been kind to me. And I buy Damp Rid for my roof that will not be repaired by the property manager so I don't lose any more items in my apartment.”
