“I’ve been shopping at Jerry’s Market for years, and during that time I’ve referred countless friends, family members, clients, and coworkers there. This weekend convinced me it’s time to tell more than just my friends—it’s time to tell everyone.
What makes Jerry’s special isn’t just the quality of the meat, although that’s exceptional. It’s the fact that when you walk through the door, you’re dealing directly with the owners. They’re the ones cutting the meat, answering questions, making recommendations, and often checking you out at the register. That level of personal pride and accountability is getting harder and harder to find.
I don’t typically write reviews. My philosophy is simple: if a business disappoints me, I just don’t come back. When I take the time to write a review, it’s because a business has consistently exceeded my expectations over many years.
Jerry’s has done exactly that.
Whether I’m buying steaks for a special dinner, pork chops for the grill, or something for a family gathering, the quality is always outstanding. More importantly, I know the people behind the counter genuinely care about what they’re selling and the customers they’re serving.
The Quad Cities is fortunate to have a local business like Jerry’s Market. They’ve earned my loyalty, my referrals, and now this review. If you’ve never been there, do yourself a favor and give them a try. I think you’ll quickly understand why I’ve been sending people there for years.

“Shopping is a pleasure, place is clean and organized nicely. Prices are very reasonable and family friendly. The fruit and vegetables are fresh and delicious. They have great pizza's, berries and grapes. They have great cherries as well.”

“Sometimes it is difficult to move down the isles when they are restocking. The workers are nice. You have to bring your own bags. The produce and meat sections are well stocked.”
“I love Aldi's and this location is always very clean and well stocked. Prices and sales are always what keep us coming back!!! The Employees are not always the friendliest at any Aldi location and this location was no exception, sadly. They HAVE opened up self check out counters at this location and that is greatly appreciated, because lines can get long at Aldi's often! There is no such thing as a perfect store, but overall, I would give this location a 5 star!!!”

“No one's ever here getting gas which is sus but always nice cuz ya don't gotta deal with other people or waiting for a pump. Maybe I just get gas at a non busy time who knows.”
“You can find uncommon breads at Fareway, e.g. foccacia loaves. Best part, they are baked every day. Baking is their daily accomplishment enjoyed by customers. Try making grilled mozzarella cheese sandwiches with foccacia bread. Yum! Can't find specialty bread, ask if you can put in an order.”
“I like going to Hy-Vee to sit and eat in the cafeteria, fill my medicine from pharmacy and play a few scratch offs. The staff are very polite, eager and friendly, especially in self checkout where I sometimes don't understand how to ring up certain items. There is always someone there to help me.”
“Many homemade brats, pizza flavor, cheese streak, dill pickle, taste great. They also make fresh homemade pizza at their deli. Definitely suggest checking it out, they also have imported foods.”
“We regularly visit there for halal meat. Sometimes, I get a good deal. Hope they maintain authentic halal. They need to put certificates on the shelves to help customers. They have Indian Biriyani. Taste is good. But their mutton biriyani feels like goat.”

“Atmosphere is very utilitarian, but that's okay, you don't pay extra for fancy displays. I think they have good prices, and if you don't see what you want on the shelf, they'll order it for you. Very nice people!”
“Yesterday was my brother’s, my partner’s, and my first time visiting Fresh Thyme Market, and we had a great experience overall. The store was very clean, well organized, and easy to browse, which made shopping feel relaxed and enjoyable.
One thing that stood out immediately was the quality of the produce — the fruits and vegetables looked fresh, clean, and well maintained. We were also impressed by the variety of products available. Whether you’re shopping for groceries, specialty food items, or home goods, there’s a surprisingly wide selection to choose from.
They had some really good sales and deals running as well. The only minor downside is that the building itself feels a little on the smaller side, but they do a good job making use of the space and fitting in a lot without it feeling chaotic.
Some items are definitely a bit expensive, but that’s expected with stores focused more on health-conscious and specialty products. Overall, it was a nice visit 🍏”

“Tony’s Grocery on Hero Street is a hidden gem! This small market has the absolute best tortilla chips, tortillas, and tamales (when available). The quality of the products is unmatched, and you can really taste the freshness in everything. The tamales are a must-try whenever they’re in stock. They’re flavorful and perfectly made. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend Tony’s for anyone craving authentic, delicious Mexican food items. It’s a great spot to grab everything you need for a tasty meal!”
