“Way too many people at this gym. Especially after 5 pm when everyone gets out of work. For the membership price and variety of equipment it's all good. Plus the friendly staff and personal trainers. That's why I give it 5”

“I’ve always been intimidated by weight training because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. MSP has been the perfect place for me to learn the ropes! Nice people all around.I like that they don’t just throw you into the group classes and have you do three, 1:1 Foundations sessions (s/o to Alex!) at the onset.Their structure of 3 classes per week package helps me stay consistent, and the class sizes are usually only 4-8 people. I’m almost two months in and feeling great.”

“I’ve been at The Bar The Gym since 2019, and I’m so glad I made the decision to transition from commercial gym. The is not your regular gym, this is a community. It’s the people that make me stay! The members and the trainers are welcoming. All experience levels are welcome. The trainers (Chris, Matt, Kalvin, Emily, Shaina, and Mike) are passionate about what they do, friendly, personable, and committed to helping others.I’ve been working with Chris for about two years, and he has helped me grow in strength. Before Chris, I was a regular gym goer. By working with Chris, I became a competitive powerlifter, and became a state record holder! Chris takes the time with work with me one on one and also is available if I need to message him with any questions. I continue to learn with him as he is a wealth of knowledge and is a great teacher! He is able to pinpoint your weaknesses and turn them into strengths. All the trainers are willing to work one on one with you and will prioritize safety and preventing injury. Not only is this a gym, but they also have a licensed massage therapist with her own studio! Jessie is a LMT with a certification in body tempering. She has incredible skills is able to give relief to those knot and tension areas. She does full body work, body tempering, cupping, all helpful tools in rest and recovery.”

“Last week was my first time training here, I walked in with an uneasy feeling about going to a new gym. While I was waiting, I walked around the premise to get myself comfortable. The equipment was clean and spread out. there wasn't as much traffic meaning people at the hour I went. I couldn't contain my laughter about how many turtles where in that building lol.As I walked around I finally met Kyle in the back room where he was doing massage therapy on a client. He was very welcoming and showed me around the place. From there I went to the back room to change to get ready for my work out! I signed a liability form to ensure that they are not responsible for any injuries and so on. As I was putting my phone away, I was told to download an app to help keep record of my heart rate while I exercise. NEAT. Also He was so ever kind to let me borrow the apple charger due to my cell phone running low on battery. He made me do a series of upper body work out movements knowing about my past shoulder injury he made sure to go easy. Moving on, I performed the exercises given as he watched my form and recorded the kg used on the white board. The work out was great, he had me do:Facepullsseated cable rowsSome sort of resistant pulley machinea series of 4 different ab work on the vibrational machinechest press machineand to finish off; a core machine and a squat for 2 min on the power pad.ab”

“I’m so glad that OT came into my life. I could not find the motivation to work out and after months of trying, I found this place. I was able to lose 15lbs in 2-3 months. I see the difference and see myself getting stronger and finding that my clothes fit better. The classes are fast-paced, but you’re welcome to start off slowly until you’re comfortable. There’s always modifications that can be made to accommodate your needs. I’ve had sciatic pain and still able to come to class and finish my workout. There’s a variety of class types to choose from. The staff has always been great to work with! I appreciate Kyler, Ralph, Jon, and Bravo for pushing me to give it my all. They definitely make the class fun and there’s no pressure to be better than anyone else even though this is a group class.I would highly recommend giving it a shot! My only complaint is that I wish there were more options for later classes.”

“Been to many gyms in my past and I’ve got to say this is the most clean, organized, and well maintenance gym. Not only is the owner friendly with his members but also truly cares about the equipment he provides to the community. He is constantly adding new equipment to the gym which is rare to see. With the well maintained machines/equipment, he also provides pre workout drinks and proteins shakes with many more for members to purchase on the go. If you need a great gym with the convenience of 24/7 hr availability, then this gym would be and great choice.”

“I’ve been to a lot of gyms throughout my fitness journey: Planet Fitness, XSport, Lifetime Fitness, even at home setups. None of these solutions have ever been helpful for me. Sometimes it’s anxiety, other times it’s motivation. The American Heart association recommends at least 30 minutes of vigorous activity every day to make sure your heart stays health. I don’t do that at all. With high cholesterol, diabetes, and more cardiovascular conditions running in the family, I need to figure out a solution that works for me.When my close friend posted on Instagram that he took his 300th class at OrangeTheory, I immediately asked him about it. At a first glance, OrangeTheory seemed very intimidating and daunting. My friend reassured me and told me to try it, but it didn’t make my anxiety any better. At the time of writing this review, OTF had a free class promotion going on.I decided that health is an investment and why not just try the free class? I have a lot to learn.I booked the nearest location near me and gave it a shot. The studio is beautiful, modern, and orange. Literally orange. From the lobby to the dimly lit orange fitness center. Everything here is ORANGE. Which totally fits the theme of the brand. The intake forms are very quick. Basic info, emergency contact, billing information. Once you’re done, you get a tour of the studio as well as a personal introduction from staff, coaches, and an explanation of how OrangeTheory works. This is going to sound weird, but OrangeTheory feels like a workout academy and we are all the students. At the end of the tour and explanation, we are given heart rate monitors and sent off into the studio. The coaches welcome everyone in with positivity and cheering. You then get sectioned off on either “the floor” (rowing/weights) or the “the treads” (treadmill, elliptical, bikes). Your heart rate monitor is connected to all the machines in the room. Walk up to a machine, tap your name, and you see your heart rate as well as what “color” you are. (Gray, Blue, Green, Orange, Red). Gray is heart at rest pace. Red is the heart at the highest performance in can go. Orange is the sweet spot. The more time you spend in orange, the more calories you burn, the more your body is working harder.Coaches never leave you alone fully. They are always talking to you through microphones. If you are on the treadmill, they will make you switch between different phases of pace. (Base, Push, All Out). The technology has “recommendations” of what these mean for incline and speed, and it’s up to you to decide what works for you. The treadmills allow for power walking, jogging, and running. It’s totally up to you for what you want to do. I do power walking.Floor exercises are guided. Coaches will demo each weight training exercise, and then they will put up a TV that shows looped videos side by side of what the exercises are doing followed by instructions like “repeat these until the coach tells you otherwise”. You are allowed to rest/refill water/bathroom anytime. The class switches groups halfway through, everyone is obligated to clean their machines with wipes. And then everything starts over again until the end of class, which ends with a recovery yoga stretch followed by community events. My OrangeTheory experience wasn’t what I expected at all. As someone with social anxiety, coming into this class scared me, but I had an amazing time. The gamification of weight loss, the “school/academy” structure and community, the stats and challenges you can see on the TV and app, literally everything here that you pay for is a streamlined and fun experience. I was very surprised by the experience here and I learned a lot in the process.Thank you OTF Roselle for the amazing experience.”

“I've been a dedicated member of Leverage Athletic since 2015. After years of coming here, I can say the best part of the gym is the incredible, supportive community. Regardless of your fitness level, you'll find a welcoming and encouraging group of individuals passionate about fitness. The gym's cleanliness is also top-notch!What really sets Leverage Athletic apart is its personalized coaching approach. Coaches tailor workouts to your ability. After 7+ years, I still ask for modifications on many workouts, as do many others in the gym. This place is more than a gym, it is a fitness haven with a fantastic community, spotless facility and dedicated coaches. “If you're thinking of working out with F45 Elk Grove Village, stop thinking and DO IT! F45 is a gamechanger for all fitness levels. The coaches and fellow fitfam are top notch. Justin and team gets everyone motivated and helps you with your fitness journey and goals from all aspects. F45 isn't just another gym. It's a program of cardio, resistance and hybrid workouts. Sunday thru Friday, they are 45 minutes and Saturdays it's an hour long class (my favorite!) The coaches push you to get into good form and lift heavier to reach your goals. When you're around like-minded people, it makes it that much easier to wake up and work out in the morning classes or shut down work and work out after you're logged off for the day. F45 Elk Grove Village should be a part of everyone's fitness journey in the area. 10/10 recommend. You have nothing to lose.....except maybe some fat :)”
