“Love this little store! It's hard to buy 'clean' meat these days, trying to improve our diets. Fresh Thyme has a wonderful selection. No steroids, no antibiotics, no GMO, just fresh clean meat, most are grass fed. They have pork, chicken, beef, and some frozen exotic meats like bison, elk, and venison. Condsidering the prices these days, Fresh Thyme is very reasonable. They also are the only place I can find low sodium ham in the deli.”
“All the people that work at the store are super friendly and very helpful in finding things I need I have been going to the store for over 32 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else they have a variety of different types of food and drink non-alcoholic they also have different types of knick knacks stuffed animals they have a variety of different types of everything they do not carry meat like a butcher but there is sandwich meat and stuff like that”

“I truly like this store! They have different kinds of variety of Mexican food. I especially like their gorditas! Made fresh everyday, especially their dough. They have beans with cheese, asado, and carne molida. It's delicious! (I just wish they would drain the grease from the carne molida. Sometimes it's a bit greasy.) Other than that, it's good food!! I also like their variety of chips and beverages. The owner is very nice and helpful! Also the employees are nice as well. Definitely worth the trip for good and hot Mexican food!”

“The new owner is a really nice guy who actually cares about his customers more than making money. I saw him myself caring for the kids at gompers and this is the type of business we need! His prices are not very low but low enough for you to get a delicious treat! From ice cream to fresh prep treats that are waay cheaper than most stores. A cup of elite is $2.49.... If you haven't stop pls do so!!!! I hope he stays in the neighborhood for a long time!!!”

“Supermercado Casa Blanca in Joliet is OMG the best hidden gem! Everything we order from them is amazing - I just wish their guacamole had a bit more flavor, like salt and lime. But back to raving about this place... their steak tacos are incredible, the rice is delicious, and the refried beans are to die for! We recently tried the tampiquena tacos and oh my, the flavors just jump all over your mouth! I absolutely love, love, love them - anytime I'm craving authentic Mexican food, Casa Blanca is my go-to. I even pass up Chipotle for them, and I'm a huge Chipotle fan! Stop reading and just go get some, trust me, you won't regret it, I promise!”

“You can find and buy anything you need for shopping. In out registers. Fresh meat and cut to your needs. They have a weekly newspaper ads for sales. It just one block away. There hours are just right .big parking space. 3 exits, and have shopping carts.”

“I want to say thank you to the lady who I’m pretty sure is the manager Sunday morning 6/14/2026 I had called ahead to ask if tenders were ready at 9am and she said oh there ready! Ended up getting there saw the grilled chicken super juicy and fresh had to switch to that got two bags of grilled chicken and 2 pounds of potatoes wedges. Extremely delicious fresh and AMAZING customer service she takes it very seriously. I’ve been to other jewels near and they separate the drums from the thighs to the breast while most places just toss everything and they have to pick through the chicken pieces when you order so I heavily appreciate the dedication she has to the hot deli section. Thanks again best jewels around !”

“I was trying to pay for my purchases with an invalid bank card. I'd forgotten my bank had canceled that particular card and issued another one. I had not received it yet in the mail. I was soo embarrassed by not being able to pay for the cart full of items. Fortunately, my bank was in the same area as Walmart. What was so amazing and caring was the agent that was supervising the self checkout allowed me to leave my items with her while I went to the bank and withdrew the funds in order to pay for my purchases. She watched over my cart. Everything was there and intact when I came back to the store!..☺️”
