“Super customer service, in 5 min I knew everything about my chainsaw. They didn't have the part I was looking for in stuck, but for sure, I will go there in the future.”
“Well, it's Ace Hardware... It's not like the Ace Hardware of years gone by. Like most retail establishments, the employees don't seem as knowledgeable as they did years ago. But, they do have a good enough selection to get you through any kind of household emergency that you might run into. It's a little pricier than, say a Menards or Home Depot; but, it is convenient. So, you might pay a little more; but, it costs you less in gas than to drive to Menards or Home Depot, so in the long run, it's not really any more expensive.
I was going to give them 5 stars; but, their employees are about as knowledgeable as the people working at Menards or Home Depot. That is, they know where to find something in the store; but, most of them don't know what half the stuff they sell is for, or how it's used. Just my observation.”

“When my brother's trailer broke down near the Indiana border, the only store within 2 hours that was still open until 9pm was this Tractor Supply. He called an associate at the store and they found the leaf spring he needed. They were willing to stay a little after closing time if needed so we could make the long trip there to pick it up. “I recently needed to pick up an online order, and although there was a hiccup with locating my item, the experience turned out to be remarkably positive thanks to the cashier who assisted me. Upon arrival, when the item wasn’t immediately found, the cashier promptly had someone also check another location and was extremely courteous, apologizing for the wait.
Throughout the process, she was not only professional but also proactive—at the first sign the item could not be found, she started reassuringly explaining the next steps. The store manager stepped in to assist, but it was the cashier’s initiative and clear communication that really stood out.
Ultimately, I decided to wait for the item to be delivered, and the way this situation was handled by the cashier left me impressed. She made what could have been a frustrating experience very manageable. She is a credit to Ace Hardware and exemplifies the type of service that builds customer loyalty. Most of the tools are made with very decent quality.
Saved me a lot of money, specially for expensive tools like the car jack, I saw many videos online and even some reported that the car jack from HF was at the level of snap on at less than half of the price. So I purchased it, and yes, this car lift works like it was supposed to do, no complaints about (now 2 years with it and still performing flawlessly)
I'm not a mechanic by any means but I dedicate a good time to my crappy cars and most of the tools from HF performed really well.
Power tools (Hercules lineup), hand tools (icon and Pittsburgh) and so on.
For professionals, you guys for sure give your money to the truck guy, but for any weekend enthusiast HF is enough.”

Also the place for Simpson Strong Tie connectors which are the thing to use in construction.
They also carry manila rope handy for lashings projects.”
“VS menards well stocked but what sets it apart is it's employees are every where and most knowledgeable. Most are from a trade which is invaluable! Plus being a vet i don't have to jump through hoops mailing in receipt or as they count on it forgetting to get 10% off. Do not like current return policy. Even if they stock item you can't even get a store credit if over i guess 30/35$. Unless you have the credit card or receipt. If I kept every receipt I'd need a accountant!”
“I inadvertently ordered the wrong color, despite saving some money due to a free shipping coupon. I contacted Koffler and spoke with Heide, who offered for me to return the product and order the correct color.
It was my error and there would be additional cost to return it, so I decided to keep what I ordered and maybe find a place to use that while waiting for another free shipping coupon.
Heide felt bad that I ordered the wrong product the first time and posted a note to herself to let me know the next time there was a free shipping coupon. When that occurred, Heide reached out to me, not once, but twice so I was able to take advantage of the free shipping. Who does that?
Heide and the others I spoke with at Koffler were very nice to speak with and I complimented Heide to her manager, Ron.

“Tom at the Lake Zurich Rental center really helped me out. I was planning on renting a sewer rodding machine because my shower was backing up. After listening to my issue tom suggested the issue was in my septic field. Turns out I took the cover off and the tank was totally full. Tom chose to help me solve my problem over the phone instead of just trying to rent me a piece of equipment. I will think of this rental department whenever I need another tool to rent. Thanks again TOM!”
“I stopped in to replace my bathroom exhaust fan. Marshall went above and beyond to help me get the parts I needed. He is super friendly and knowledgeable, and answered the questions I had to make my project go smoothly. I wish all hardware stores had employees like Marshall!”

“It’s rare these days to be greeted by friendly staff in a hardware store. Instead of shopping at big box stores, I’ve started coming here more frequently because I truly feel valued as a customer. While the prices may not always be the lowest, they’re competitive enough, and the service more than makes up for it. The employees are always helpful, guiding me to exactly what I need. For projects I’m not completely sure about, they point me in the right direction every time. If you live in the neighborhood, I encourage you to support local businesses—it’s the right thing to do.”
“I stopped by to look for a Moen kitchen faucet part after trying with no success directly through the manufacturer but they didn’t have the part on hand since it’s a older faucet and unfortunately due to the Chyna virus ordering and shipping times are drastically longer than normal but the gentleman behind the counter knew exactly what I needed and made a photocopy of the parts diagram and luckily I was able to order on Amazon and get the part the next day. They didn’t get a sale(no fault of their own) but they definitely made a client. Thanks gents!”
