“My business depends on a post office that works as one should, and this is the best post office I have experienced. They don't have a self-help kiosk or a big bin for packages, but they quickly scan in prepaid packages that you place on the counter. More importantly, they have some of the best customer service in Lansing. Bob is always helpful and Roscoe is a day-brightener!”
“The amazing employee who took care of me today is named Kiki (apologies if spelled wrong!) She did an amazing job! It was my first time setting up a P.O. Box and so naturally, I had a lot of questions so it took quite a while before it everything finally got set up. Kiki was very helpful and I couldn’t thank her enough for being very patient with me, considering I was asking a lot of questions haha. “Great Post Office I’ve ever been to. Most offices have rude workers, but Debra is the sweetest, down-to-Earth lady ever. And this company should offer her a top employee bonus for being crazy kind, even under pressure and distasteful customers. She decorates, offers candies, does extra cleanings, and gives the Post Office the proper name that would expect of a worldwide community-necessary store.”

“Don’t listen to the negative reviews, because if any of the ladies were “rude” to those customers, they absolutely did something to deserve it. These ladies are so kind and helpful.
I ship a lot of packages for my small business, and I’ve used a lot of USPS locations. This one is the kindest and most reliable by far! My packages are always scanned in same-day, and I haven’t had a single one lost since I started coming to this location.
To those of you complaining about the wait time, this location is very busy, and they only have two registers. If you have packages with prepaid labels, just leave them on the counter and the ladies will scan them in. You don’t have to wait. You can also do most things online to avoid having to wait in person. :)”

“This is an updated review, from my previous 1-star, negative review. I am happy to say that the other individuals from both East Chicago locations, have now retired!! Now, we have new younger staff. Forgive me if that’s a horrible comparison, but then generation we will in today encourages proper communication. These new people carry on a conversation, they are friendly, and they are definitely there to help you; they are not upset or bitter (yet)! I hope these individuals continue being the familiar faces for the years to come, even if I don’t go to the post office that many times in a year. Thank you, upper management, for taking the time to see who was already working for you, and hopefully see this position as a promotion… customer service, is not easy!! Thanks again — PS, thank you for taking the extra time for finding the black envelope that my dad said was to be returned to sender! -FC”

“Parking can be a challenge at times since it’s located between resident homes. Best to use your hazard lights when parked in a non parking spot. The closer it gets to 3pm and closing time theres more traffic due to 2 schools being let out so be patient. The full time employee that works there is amazing. She’s very informative and is straight to the point. Treat her with respect and kindness & you’ll get treated the same.”
“I went to this post office and was greeted at the door by a man in a Batman costume. He was nice and gave me a half eaten sandwich. Delicious mustardy. I even found free gum on the underside of the counter! How Nice! I even found 13 cents and a Tootsie Role on the floor! Amazing!!!”
“I am impressed with this office! It was a very pleasant experience. Passport application appointment went well. The postal clerk was friendly and efficient! The whole process was fast and problem free. Be nice to our fantastic federal civil servants, especially during the nonsense that is going on in our government right now. Skip the lines at other offices that may be closer to your location. Enjoy a visit to the quaint downtown of Whiting Indiana and this old fashioned Post Office.”

“We are so fortunate to have this Post Office staff in our community! Our carrier Sue is phenomenal. I think our dogs like her more than us. The deliveries are on time, and we often get a call to make sure a delivery that is time sensitive was made from the local Postmaster. If I could rate them higher than Google's five stars, I would.”
“EVERYTIME I frequent this place, I'm treated with such high levels of respect, & they helped me set up my p.o. box. In thankful. The lady whose picture is shown here is ALWAYS pleasant, & helpful. “I had a situation and Donta sent me off. I went to another post office and they told me to go back to Harvey. Raven was a gem and I appreciate her going to the extra effort. I had to come back and edit this review. Because I received a follow up call from the post office and they made sure that I issue was resolved. If I remember the rep. who me was named Darryl. He was professional.”
“I gave a UPS package to USPS. I realized 3 days later the situation, so I went to go check the post office. Although the package was not there, the front desk lady assured me that it was being rerouted to the right destination. Not saying that these other comments aren't valid in their concerns, because they have good points. However, I would like to point out that USPS has a policy that they can destroy mail that's not theirs. This post office didn't do that, thankfully. To anyone selling on Ebay/Mecari and made this same mistake recently, don't worry too much about it. Everything should get sorted out by itself, but you should still check and ask the post office.”
“I’ve been to this post office a few times and always have good service, however today I receive EXCELLENT service. Markeisha went above and beyond to help me get my wedding invitations out. She went one by one to add additional postage that I was missing due to the contents of the envelope. She took her time and was so nice”

“they do the best they can. i used to work in the post office in Germany in the Army. and unless youve ever had that job you couldnt know how hard it gets. when you have people who expect you to mail things with the wrong info, etc, and then get mad if something theyre expecting in the mail gets delivered later than they think. it all takes TIME PATIENCE AND ACCURACY in order for a item to be mailed to someone, if this country would realize that ,mayb there would be less anger and more understanding.,”

“I requested passport service and the young man, clerk 62 was very helpful. He provided step by step instructions on completing form, what was needed, cost, and they could take photos. I was very impressed with care he provided.
I took a train downtown to a passport service business and didn't get the attention or care that clerk 62 provided. Secondly cost downtown was about $600, cost at post office was $160
