“A Tale of Two Shops – just one example of how great Nofsinger’s has been over the years, as Dave is always quick to consult or scan my cars even when busy, and has always been more than reasonable.
Using technology many independent shops lack, Dave diagnosed my intermittent airbag light as a failing clock spring and then determined that Hyundai had a problem with the part so I might be able to get it repaired free at a dealership. No charge from Dave.
Sure enough, I found a technical service bulletin and an extension of the warranty to 15 years. This should be the end of the story, but you can always count on dealers to make Nofsinger’s look good. I booked a service appointment at a dealership in Villa Park (also reviewed) and insisted that they have the part in stock by the time I came so I wouldn’t have to go twice.
Short version: They didn’t have the part but didn’t tell me until I’d been there 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change I’d added and an open recall (underbody treatment) I’d agreed to only because I thought I was getting it all over with at once.
On top of that, the service writer told me the job would cost $700 when the part came in. Gee, I wonder where dealers get their bad reputations? After I pushed back, he scurried off to a manager and then returned to confirm there would be no charge, but there was never anything close to an apology.
I never went back. I got the part for $27 and installed it myself literally in 20 minutes. If I’d gone back to Nofsinger’s (where they’re always patient with my DIY endeavors), I guarantee it wouldn’t have cost $700. Or $200. They can do way more than you think, and if they can’t, they admit it.”

Sure, you could save $20 and buy cheaper somewhere else. But why risk getting cheap tires from unskilled technicians who don’t know how to properly balance a tire and then use an impact wrench to tighten your lug nuts causing your alloy rims to be distorted? Where’s your $20 savings now?
Seriously. I’ve had that happen. Don’t let it happen to you. Go to DuPage. Best tire shop around! Honest and knowledgeable experts.”

“Loni is hands down the best mechanic I've had the pleasure of working with. We've been relocated nationally 10+ times over the last 20 years and visited many shops, big and small.
During our last move to Naperville, I visited a well known automotive shop who unfortunately gave me the run around for 8 weeks. What should have been a new brake pad/rotor installation and alignment ended up turning into months of non-stop screeching, excuse after excuse, and eventually both rear camber bolts seizing (with one completely snapping off), which made my car unsafe to drive.
I posted a photo of the bolt on social media, requesting any suggestions for reputable mechanics in the area. Multiple replies emphasized Loni's skill, knowledge, and expertise. I contacted Loni, who freely gave his time over the phone, and set up an appointment for the following day. Once the car was lifted, he again provided ample time to go over work the other company had performed, repairs that would need to be done, and an approximate time frame and dollar amount. He was patient, intelligent, and accommodating.
Loni not only fixed all the previous work that was done incompetently, he came in under budget and my vehicle was ready a few days earlier then expected.
I appreciated his straight shooting demeanor and 35+ years of master certified knowledge. There was no ambiguity regarding his expertise, he 110% knows what he's talking about and stands behind his work, guaranteed.
Loni (mechanic), Kathy (office manager), and Maury (owner) are a rare gem in the automotive shop industry. For as long as we're in IL, I will continue bringing my business to Automotivation.”

“I always bring my cars here for work. Brought it in for an alignment, and found that there was a defective tierod that was causing my steering wheel to be slightly crooked when driving straight. Honest company, they dont just tell you whats wrong to try to rip you off, they show you the issue before they start work. They work quick and efficient also. Also got wheel hub bearings replaced at a good fair price.
No complaints and would recommend them.”
