“Currently undergoing massive renovation due to new ownership. Usual minor construction noises during the day. New rooms are beautiful. Management stated intention that renovation should be done by holidays.

Rooms: New rooms beautiful. Housekeeping at this hotel has always been excellent.

Food and drinks: Restaurant located on property. Breakfast is usual fare. Lunch and dinner meals are more of a sports bar / entertainment venue type. Happy hour from 4-7 weekdays. Most days have a special theme and type of entertainment. Restaurant is very popular with the locals on the weekends.”

“Wonderful getaway for couples looking for privacy, intimacy, a unique experience, and quiet. The larger suites come with a private garage for added privacy and dual couples massage chairs that are absolutely wonderfully relaxing after unwinding in the hot Jacuzzi. There's also a sauna stream room with double shower heads for couples to enjoy together, a ceiling waterfall feature for the main pool, and a whirlpool tub inside the main room. There's also two large screen televisions, one by the pool, the other inside the room with fireplaces by both. The main room has a mini fridge, microwave, stereo surround system with Bluetooth, small seating area for eating, hidden in wall ironing board, with a bidet and larger shower. A couple complaints were the fireplaces were not operational and the switch for the pool light didn't work so we couldn't shut it off and the light was a little annoying when trying to sleep. Otherwise great time and experience with friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend”

“Stayed at Essence Suites and had a really nice experience. The room was clean, private, and relaxing. Staff was friendly and check-in was smooth they were very accommodating . Perfect little getaway for couples. Would definitely stay again!”

“As an Event Planner I've always have been happy with the cooperation of the Georgio's family and Staff in hosting my Record Collector Shows here for the past 12 years. I have 3 beautiful and functional ballrooms to choose from which greet the public when they come through the door. Our overnight stay and breakfast is always very welcomed and the Clerks always quickly act on any request that may come up. Whether your here for my event or any other reason the people here will make you feel comfortable and welcomed.”

“Arrival, barricaded entrance. Not enough parking.Front desk needs training. First set of keys did not work, went back to the desk, she reprogrammed them, went back to room only to find she gave us the wrong room to begin with. 212 the single queen room next to the elevator. Went back down argued with front desk, pulled out my confirmation with the deluxe 2 queen room and was able to get keys that worked. We were late for dinner with my family because of the mishandling of our entire check in process. Room was nice. Breakfast was substandard at best, we liked it better when it was in the restaurant. Check out, she could/would not print out a receipt for us.”

“Harry the night manager was very instrumental in retrieving our reservation after the reservation was canceled due to my not understanding the check in text message prior to our arrival at the hotel.
He did an excellent job explaining the process of some hotels cancellations are done if you fail to contact the hotel while traveling to the destination.

Our check in time was 3:00p but we didn’t arrive until 2:30a the next morning. He was able to handle the situation with prompt and professional assistance provided.

I had to update this review after getting my credit statement with $840.00 cancellation fee for a three day stay. I am having second thoughts about staying at any hotel that adds these types of charges to my hotel bill even if I stay at the hotel!

I can understand the charge if you don’t arrive at the hotel but not if you arrive at a later time.”

“Location was right off the interstate and close to restaurant and shopping. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Staff were mostly friendly. Would definitely recommend and I would stay here again.”

“We needed a place to land before heading downtown, and this place fit the bill and our pocketbooks. Road construction aside, it was easy to find. Would have been great if they’d had SF syrup for the waffles, but otherwise a nicer breakfast than most motels.”

“Stayed for work. The location is very safe. They do have an elevator to the second floor. There are in the process of remodeling during my stay. The hallway isnt done yet but my room is brand new. There are plenty of lamps so the room is very well illuminated. There is a good amount of fast food eating very close by. The price was very good. The staff at the front desk is very friendly. Im always gone before the breakfast. I still have a couple weeks left to stay.”

“I looooved this hotel. We had to book last minute because the original hotel we had couldn’t accommodate our needs so we left. Drove 45 mins to this location and they offered us a great deal for a suite, although it was last minute. The room was really beautiful and we stayed for two days. We are looking forward to coming back in a few weeks just because the staff was very friendly and our room was beautiful. The hotel is currently doing renovations, but it did not bother us at all. Btw, they had an Amazon Fire TV and we were able to watch our favorite shows on the go! Thank you so much for the amazing service and accommodating us at such short notice. We will be back soon!”

“I stayed only 1 night. The room was just as pictured. VERY CLEAN The design of the room was VERY up to date current. It was a hot day and the room had ice cold ac so much I had to turn it off. The lady working was so very nice. My dogs were very comfortable the dog station is right out front. That helped me feel safe. I was having a very bad day and La Quinta you really came thru with affordability dog friendly AND breakfast. THANK YOU LA QUINTA”

“So we stayed extended at this motel and I wanted to give credit where credit was due. First and foremost, shout out to Sandy who works behind the front desk. She is very efficient at her job and cares about customer experience. She was so very kind our entire stay. Also, officer Young was a nice dude. He has to come around with Sandy to make sure everyone is checking out on time and he does it with poise. I'm glad they gave her backup. Now for the rooms. I enjoyed the shower it was very spacious. I wish there was better water pressure but having working water worked for me. Never had plumbing issues with anything so that was good too. Microwave and fridge worked well, and beds were comfy. AC never blew out once, and sheets and towels were fresh on our chosen days of Monday and Friday. The channels were decent (definitely grateful for comedy central) It was never super loud inside or outside of the motel and police were ever present. The young Indian guy who works the front desk was easy to work with and Ries on night shift is great as well; very pleasant and easy to talk to. I do have a few issues to speak of. Firstly, I did not care for the elderly housekeeper who works with her sons trying to get me kicked out. We cleaned our own room and she got disciplined for saying she did it and tried to take it out on us and that was foul as we were nothing but kind to her Everytime we saw her. I thought we were just making her workload a little lighter. Also, there is an elderly woman who works nights who can be very I'll mannered for no reason. She makes it known that she disapproves of less clothing by looking you up and down with the nastiest look on her face, judging as you walk by. I've seen her do it to other women and had to go through it myself. And the main takeaway is NO BEDBUGS NOT ONCE LBVS! I am so grateful we didn't have any big issues because sometimes that is definitely a problem. Overall I give it a 4 out of five stars and definitely will use this motel in the future if needed. Thank you to the staff for having us and helping us through a very trying time.”

“I was traveling into Chicago for business and I was looking for a good economy hotel room. Found this property but I was a little afraid of getting a room at this hotel since the reviews were bad so I wasn’t sure but the price was a good value for money. So, I went ahead and booked a room. The staff at the check in was very helpful, I was told by the front desk staff that the hotel was under new management. After getting in my room, I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room. Even though the room needed some upgrades, sheets, towels and the bathroom was very clean and specially the internet was great.The location was Excellent just off 294 andI-80. I had to be in downtown Chicago and was only 30 minutes away. I will recommend this hotel.”
