“This place is amazing! It's mainly Mexican style food. They have a hot food bar. They put it out "Fresh Everyday". If they fill up the food bar at 10am- by 1:30pm. Its only scrapes left because the food on is OMG, good food, very fair portions, and the price is right! Looking forward to returning for a few items.”
“I’ve been shooting at that store more than 10 years and I love it now I would like to share my experience it’s such an amazing one stop to shop they have everything from the Middle East and more their price very reasonable compared to other places everything fresh the store very clean. The owner are wonderful. I recommend everybody to visit a shop from there.i wish Google has more than 5 starts but I will throw another 5 starts from me as a chef thanks allot brother’s grocery store”
“Incredible! The Sausage King of Chicago! Ordered the jalapeño sausage, hot italian sausage, and ghost pepper sausage for Da Bears tailgate party. Beyond amazing! Sal, one of the staff members, was incredibly friendly and very generous! Thanks again Sal! - I will 100% be back to try everything you guys sell!!”
“I came in to try that NY strip steak sandwich that people have been raving about on Google. The verdict is the hype is real. The NY strip steak is very tender and flavorful. It’s like a medium rare burger, it requires very little chewing. It’s the combination of the French roll, the steak, the grilled onions, and Asiago cheese that truly make it just a great sandwich. Even after devouring it, it’s still on my mind and I wouldn’t mind coming back to try other items on the menu. Customer service is very friendly and attentive. You can tell they care about their customers. Parking is easy, you just have to go into that big lot to the right. Prices are very fair for the quality of meat.”
“Consistently quality all natural meats and seafood. Great takeout menu, best burger in Chicagoland.
Ended the curse of the Billy goat ensuring the 2016 Chicago Cubs Worlds Series victory. Those other guys brought a live goat to break the curse. These fellows at Carnivore killed the f'ing goat.
Hardcore.”
“$12.99 for quite possibly the best corned beef sandwich in Chicago....YES PLEASE....my mouth is watering just describing the amazing quality and experience this Sammie has....Eat Local is a local Chicago food review channel on YouTube and these 2 guys, Sean Ely and Corey Wagner are right, this is an unexpected taste explosion....definitely a huge must visit recommendation.....enjoy PEEPS and also, everything on the menu is probably A1 TOP NOTCH as well”
“I shop here for meats and sausages for the grill. Great cuts of steaks for the money. Salads from the deli are very good too. The owner is very nice and cut the meat as I asked. There still is plenty for me to try here. No complaints worth the drive! AAA+”
“The new owners did a great job reorganizing the store and getting it cleaned up. The meat and groceries are very competitively priced. Sometimes, it can be hard to get a hold of someone on the phone. They also got rid of a lot of the processed meat selection that used to be available.Note: their Sunday hours are now 10 am to 5 pm.”
““Authentic”-Kielbasa craving???
Look no further than Kurowski.
Never in all my years of shopping here
have I ever found an English-speaking-Polish-Foodie able to describe the differences of the +20 types of
Smoked-Sausages they make here
( & sell here as well).
It is a place that smells as good as it tastes.?
Their Hot Food bar offers a great Polish Lunch selection, as well as the refrigerated display case featuring my fav- a Carrot “Salad”/Slaw w/Raisins, as well as other pickled items and coleslaw.
Sadly, since The Pandemic they’ve stopped selling “bones” inna Blue-Plastic-Barrel.
The piggy bones were great to use for soups or stocks, & my Honduraino buddy literally drooled(& kissed me) over the “trotters”
I gifted him that were pulled-outta that
Blue Barrel.
The southern 1/2 of the stores sells all sorts of non-meat items from European Butter & Cheese to Dill Pickles inna barrel to
Gluten-Free-Breads made w/Sunflower Seeds!
“Pro-Tip”:: For your next picnic ( or cocktail gathering)- may I suggest getting
a few pairs of “Kabonosy” + also request a
2” thick slice (use Sign-Language-to-show-Thickness?) of their Smoked-Gouda Cheese ( pronounced-“How-dah”)>
and b4 your picnic cut into small cubes /slice the Kabonosy into lil bite-sizes> & toothpick-em-together! (Maybe go crazy& skewer a Gherkin on it too!)
(Insiders alert- on the top of
the Stainless counter, over by The scales are broken Kielbasa packaged and sold for
a steep discount)
A bit of Chicago Retail History, this address was formerly the home of “Animal Kingdom”
Pet-Shop.
Wanna Snake?
Wanna Lizard?
Wanna Ocelot?
Turtles-big and small?
Wanna goldfish ( to feed to the Turtle!?)
Even an occasional Capuccian Monkey ?
( think Organ Grinder)
All sorts of legit & questionable live animals used to be sold here
Kurowski Sausage is -
CHICAGO’s VERY OWN!”
“Great place to get your favorite meats and not only. They have a nice variety of smoked meat, smoked sausage and even sweets. The owners always greet you with a smile on their face and it's always a pleasure to stop by. And BTW, they also deliver and ship cross country. I highly recommend Saravale Meat Market”

“Place is OK. 2 slot inside dock can get even tighter if the first guy goes in a little cockeyed. Works more along the lines of first come first served. Don't get there too early because they will still be loading their own trucks and you'll just be wasting your time. Guys there are easy enough to work with. If it wasn't for the tight inside dock they would get 5 stars.”
“I was looking for a specific flavor of Good Belly probiotics, and the website showed that Kramer sold it. When I called they didn’t have any in stock. However, they special ordered me a whole case! I appreciate them looking out for me and doing that favor of getting the product in. Thank you for hooking a sista up!”
“Amazing factory store of Polish meats, deli, and sausage. Everything at discounted factory prices. Very very fresh. On the weekend you can also get things such as condiments, fresh bread, and sweets.”
“I absolutely love this place. In a world where everything is poison and toxic... its nice to know I'm eating meat that is sourced from farmers and healthy! I come here once every two months and stock up on some meat and bones. Highly recommend you at least check this place out!”
“Been going to Casey's for 20 years plus. Everything is great, clean, friendly. That being said, the 3% credit card fee REALLY irks me. One more thing: I realize Bidenflation is real, and businesses are in a pinch, but how can you charge $15/pound for example, honey maple turkey, while Jewel sells it everyday at $8/pound?? There are other examples....we are willing to pay more most of the time to support Casey's, but please, double check the current pricing/reassess if the prices need to be adjusted. ONE more thing...any chance you can bring back online sandwich orders??”
“I've driven past this market a bunch of times and decided to pop in on a whim to see what it's all about. I was very pleasantly surprised - not only do they have an abundance of produce, they had a sizable selection of specialty produce. In addition to produce, they had meat, a deli counter, a cheese section, and the biggest array of ethnic foods that I've seen at a non specialty grocery store. I will definitely be keeping this market top of mind for future recipes and gatherings.”
“I love this groceries store definitely been a community staple for yearssssssss I don't have enough S to add im 45 Mario's was around when I was very young like 1985 Capital Hill Shit”
“I moved to VP about 5 years ago from the northside, and I'm so happy we found this place....I'm proud to say its become our go-to. Not only does Mike's have amazing high quality meat, but they have a great deli too and the staff makes it even better. Since day 1, i'm always greeted in the kindest way - I even know some by first name basis which is always a small town dream, right?! I should've made a review a long time ago but I am now because on Saturday I bought a 5 1/2 lb corned beef brisket for St Patrick's day to make my husband, and I was really conflicted on the best method to make it since it was on the larger end (from my experience of cooking). I already procrastinated in the morning and probably should've started earlier but I decided to call up Mikes this morning for advice and wow - they really helped me. Google wasnt helping me, everyone has different methods, or recipes of which way is better and i wanted to get it just right especially since this was not a cheap cut of meat! Two gentlemen gave me advice on 2 methods, and they literally gave me all the tips and best ways to handle from their own experiences. Man, it really made me so happy to support a business like Mikes and we will always continue to do so. They really care, and always take the time to help out their customers in store and over the phone. Thank you Mikes meat market! You guys are truly a gem in VP.”
“Great little market with many hidden gems like rosewater, orange blossom water, dates, and halva. A huge selection of tea and coffee, sweets, and spices. I will be doing more of my shopping here, this is a pastry chef's dream!”
“The best Irish corned beef in Chicago! Quality meats. Great value for catering big parties. My wife loves their Irish soda bread. Family-owned business, very friendly and welcoming. 5 stars.”
“High quality meat, wide selection, competitive prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not much else you could ask for in a local butcher shop. I’ll definitely be back soon”
“Made a delivery here. I was sitting down the street and they came to get me to let me know they are ready. Explained where to park from the street to unload. Lumper fee $300 if you're not able to help unload. Super nice guy. Street parking is a little sketchy but told me where to park to finish a 10hr break where know body will mess with you.”
“?My Friends From CTA & I Genuinely Miss Their Awesomely Great Bobak’s Grocery Store Which Was Located On Archer.
When I work for CTA Archer Garage, we go there for lunch even on our own non-working days Because ?They Had The Best Polish Food EVER (In Small Cafe/Restaurant Located Inside Grocery Store Too)! All their sausage and food items are always totally fresh and delicious!!!? ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”
“The absolute BEST hummus. The pita bread is fresh and comes in a large quantity. However, they run out kind of early.
I bought the chocolate rolls that were absolutely delicious. They'd be great with cinnamon, too.”
“Just wanted to drop you a line that my wife and I used your delicious pepperoni on our homemade skillet pizza on Saturday - the best tasting one we ever made!Your pepperoni is the only pepperoni we want to use.Keep up the good work!!!”
“I go to Adrian's for everything. They've got all the protein rich food I need to gain muscle and all the drinks and chips that make me remember my time in Mexico. Whether I'm preparing food for myself or for a party or just trying to win the lottery, Adrian's is where I go.”

“This spot is def a hidden gem. Not surprised that it was not found on yelp. When you walk in through the front it is a store front, but the real magic happens in the back. Everything from menudo, to home made tamales, to tacos can be ordered in the back. If you enjoy real home cooked Mexican food this is the place for you. I started off with a simple but delicious bean taco. It sounds easy but there's an art to it and when I tried to ask how they made the beans the answer was simple "secret recipe." Then I moved to the main dish, menudo. What a joy that was, simmering and quite delicious and then I finished the meal with homemade tamales. Guys if you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is the spot for you. Ask for Lola when you walk in. Like I said think of this spot as a speak easy of food, hidden gem is in the back. You can also ask Lola about catering.”
“Great prime meats...awesome service... everyone is very knowledgeable and customer oriented . .they been supplying us at the grill on the alley for a couple of years...”
