“I’ve been shopping at Jerry’s Market for years, and during that time I’ve referred countless friends, family members, clients, and coworkers there. This weekend convinced me it’s time to tell more than just my friends—it’s time to tell everyone. What makes Jerry’s special isn’t just the quality of the meat, although that’s exceptional. It’s the fact that when you walk through the door, you’re dealing directly with the owners. They’re the ones cutting the meat, answering questions, making recommendations, and often checking you out at the register. That level of personal pride and accountability is getting harder and harder to find. I don’t typically write reviews. My philosophy is simple: if a business disappoints me, I just don’t come back. When I take the time to write a review, it’s because a business has consistently exceeded my expectations over many years. Jerry’s has done exactly that. Whether I’m buying steaks for a special dinner, pork chops for the grill, or something for a family gathering, the quality is always outstanding. More importantly, I know the people behind the counter genuinely care about what they’re selling and the customers they’re serving. “Great little grocery store with old fashioned customer service. They have fabulous scones and other baked goods from somewhere in Leclaire, IA, and I'm addicted to them. Good prices, great meat counter, and they always offer to help you with your groceries to your car. I never do take them up on it, because it's good exercise, but it's sweet that they offer. Great selection, and cheaper than Hyvee (but who isn't, lol).”
“I love Aldi's and this location is always very clean and well stocked. Prices and sales are always what keep us coming back!!! The Employees are not always the friendliest at any Aldi location and this location was no exception, sadly. They HAVE opened up self check out counters at this location and that is greatly appreciated, because lines can get long at Aldi's often! There is no such thing as a perfect store, but overall, I would give this location a 5 star!!!”

“It's Target. What you see is what you get. Checkout lines can be long at times. Definitely more than two people per line, but that is typical of most places "post Covid". Starbucks inside is solid. Inventory diversity is solid but quantities can be low. Produce is hit or miss.”

“I had used Walgreens for years but had so many issues in the last 2 I was looking for a new place to fill my prescriptions. I was tired of Walgreens being closed randomly or being out of the medication I needed. Not to mention long lines. So I moved everything to Osco Drug and I am SO happy I did! Just wish I would have sooner! Not only are they open SEVEN days a week, the staff is always super helpful and friendly, they always have the medication I need AND it is even less expensive than what I was paying at the other place for the exact same thing! “I've shopped here since I was a kid! (I am white/European and I speak very very minimal Spanish) Staff are very helpful. Tamales go quick on the weekend, but you can call the day ahead to reserve some, which is great! Different bread/pastries every day and day old conchas are discounted (great to freeze)”

“Jewel-Osco is a great store and they have a lot of fruits that are on sale all the time really cheap and I mean dirt cheap. I just moved here from Florida. It's more expensive than what it is in Florida but I do get some great specials on meat and other items in the store and I will continue to shop there. Not only is it convenient but I love the store and everybody there is so nice and very helpful.”

Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
