“This gym was my personal intro to CrossFit. I had been out of a fitness routine for many years since having two kiddos. They made it accessible, low key and fun to get started. It’s inspiring to see folks of all ages and fitness levels supporting one another and pushing their bodies to build towards personal goals. I am almost two months in and so happy with my progress. I recommend this gym to anyone but especially those with a positive attitude who want a very nice community to get stronger with! ????”
“Honestly it’s the best gym with the most amazing trainers, staff, and athletes I have ever met!!! Iron flag is my new family and my favorite gym of all time! I’ve been growing as a crossfit athlete and it’s been amazing! I can’t wait to see where I’ll be next year :)”
“All the trainers at Just Lift are beyond amazing! Everyone is well trained and knowledgeable. You call tell they care about each individual member’s performance and success.”
“What a great place to work out! I look forward to attending classes at this gym. And I’ve never felt that about a gym after a few months! It’s the class size, almost personalized coaching, the option to use the gym by yourself, all of which make it worth the membership here.”

“I've been a member of CrossFit Salire for about 2 years now, and it’s been a game-changer. The coaches are knowledgeable, motivating, and truly care about each member's progress. The community is incredibly supportive, making every workout fun and challenging. The facility is top-notch, always clean, and well-equipped/maintained. Since joining, I've seen significant improvements in my fitness and overall well-being. If you’re looking for a place that will push you to be your best while feeling like part of a family, CrossFit Salire is the place to be!”

“I stumbled upon this gym about 2 years ago. I've been an AF since 2013 but prior to coming to Roselle the rut I had gotten myself into had become more of a lifestyle. I quickly felt at home thanks to the positive energy of Jackie, Amanda and the whole morning crew. I've been to Anytimes all over the country and this gym and its staff are top notch! It makes me sad to say goodbye but im grateful for every second I spent here amongst this fabulous group ?”
“I have recently joined this incredible gym and have experienced the most welcoming and encouraging first week. It took me a few years (since COVID started) to get back into any gym consistently, and I so happy that I chose SPENGA in Bloomingdale. Special thanks to Carrie, Kari and Monica for kindly easing me back into elevating my health. YAY !!!”
“Couldn’t praise this gym higher - has all tools to keep working out fun. Great team , the owner really cares about the place always very clean.10/10 recommend ??”

“How does it start? With an email or a phone call. How does it end?Don’t know. Still going here six months later.Ian and Emily are AMAZING people. That’s easy enough to say, but let me back it up.I took the leap and sent an email to them that I had never really lifted weights. I mostly did cardio exercises. Ian responded promptly and set up a phone call to discuss what goes on at their gym. The first personal training session was free so I tried it.You know that thing that you eat that you can’t put down once you try some. That’s what this was like except way more expensive. It makes you stop and think, but ultimately the question you have to ask yourself is what would you pay to be HEALTHY and HAPPY each week?Ian works with you to create a workout plan that FITS WHAT YOU WANT including workouts for days when you’re at home or your regular gym. He’s there to give you ADVICE on nutrition and eating/drinking right for your goals. It’s up to you on what you decide to do and he doesn’t care whether you take his advice or not. He’s the same regardless. Scheduling is flexible and is done personally via texts. That’s right, you have contact with Ian even when you’re not working out with him and you have normal conversations. HE'S INVESTING HIS TIME IN MAKING YOU A BETTER PERSON.From a workout perspective, there are a variety of workouts that you end up doing and they will repeat. You’re there to get progressive gains over time and the only way to do that is to repeat the workouts on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. When you hit a plateau, he’ll change it up and you’ll do different workouts for a little while. At the end of each session is a random 5 minute variety of exercises that are more intense than the rest of the workout. “The Finisher” as Ian calls them. That said, I’ve never left a workout overly sore to the point where I can’t function the next day. As you do more and more workouts and they repeat, you might ask yourself “Why do I still need to come here?” “Couldn’t I do this myself now?”IT'S NOT JUST A WORKOUT. It’s life, and that’s one of the best parts is the conversations with Ian about anything and everything. Ian has been one of the most influential people in my life. This comes from discussions about future life goals, careers, philosophical questions, book recommendations, etc. The monumental change he’s made in my life from a mental perspective is something he probably doesn’t realize and something I don't know that I can ever overstate. I don’t know that everyone can expect that, but I do know that you can expect the workout you have at i.e. Fitness to be one of the highlights of your week. As I mentioned before he’s invested his time in making you a better person and he will push you to be better. He will give you that motivation to try harder when you don’t want to or think that you can’t do something. He will push you to your limits, but not push you over them.I know what you're thinking. What about Emily? While I've never worked out with her, I've been lucky enough to be at the gym when she's working out with someone or just stopping by the gym. She's a nice person who brings an energetic atmosphere to the gym with a bubbly personality albeit terrible taste in music :). It is thanks to her I have never been more nervous to lose to a six year old kid and I'm pretty sure she's the reason Ian is so great. If you've gotten this far, my RECOMMENDATION to you is to TAKE THAT FIRST FREE SESSION and then decide for yourself what you think is the best thing for you in your life.Have an amazing day!”

“Excellent, 24-hour, old-school iron gym. A day pass is $17. They have a little bit of everything from fat-grip dumbbells to belt squat. There are two separate buildings a half block apart. One for upper body and one for lower body.”
“This is a family owned and operated gym, which helps to create a very unique vibe. There is a very connected, neighborhoody feel about this gym. This atmosphere, which has been cultivated by owners, staff, and area patrons, is difficult to replicate in a big-box, chain gym. Aside from the overall vibe, I like that the people at Elite are upfront with regard to their pricing. There are no guessing games. Their rates are listed on their Web site. They also offer a ten punch card so you can try out the gym before you make a commitment. Those who workout at Elite seem to be connected members of the local community. I find that the clientele is friendly, respectful, and fitness-focused. Lastly, the gym is located in a very cute area of Western Springs. There are several local businesses nearby that you can visit before or after a workout. It's also important to note that parking has never been an issue for me at Elite.”
“I switched from a local gym to ENRG Fitness about a year ago and have never looked back. The staff is knowledgeable and also encouraging in a very genuine way.
The classes are different everyday - so it's unlikely you'll ever get burned out/bored. Give ENRG a try! You won't regret it and your body will thank you!”

“The best powerlifting gym in the area. All the best equipment for powerlifting, strongman, olympic lifting. The owner is awesome and has built a community that's inviting for lifters at any level. Not only that, the people at the gym are friendly and helpful. Can't recommend it enough to anyone in the area or for visitors.”
“Tried F45 for the first time today, took the Triple Threat class with Brittany, friendly staff and engaging environment. Made me feel welcome and provided a memorable experience. If you are thinking of trying don't think twice! See you soon!”
“Love the 35 min workout! I previously gave up on HIIT workouts due to injuries but Nick and Chris do a great job of showing proper form and coaching, also very motivating. I highly recommend this gym!”

“I have been coming to this gym for a little over a year and let me say - it is filled with great members - and great management! Jeremy is the BEST! On top of being very attentive, professional, and friendly - I walked out to a flat tire in the parking lot a week ago and Jeremy not only helped out a lot, he literally rolled around on the ground and got his hands dirty helping me change it. Needless to say, people like Jeremy are rare - and employees like Jeremy are even harder to find! A great fella - he is a great representative of the gym, and the people that exercise and work there! Highly recommend! Couldn't be any better.”
“I'm handicapped and have been working with Tanner for a year now. I am personally amazed at what I can do now by working with him. My strength, flexibility and ability to move more confidently being handicapped has increased exponentially. He varies the workouts and lastly knows how to deal with people like me who have been injured in a safe way. I highly recommend him.”
“Went on a Tuesday and very much appreciated Mark who was very friendly and accommodating to my mobility issues. Facility is kept super clean and orderly. Very nice to see! Shout out to the staff for that and keeping up the general vibe (especially Chris) Good guy ?”

“After just five training sessions at the CrossFit gym, I’m feeling incredibly grateful, supported, and stronger than ever. From the moment I walked in, the sense of community and encouragement was overwhelming. I’ve never felt so welcomed and truly part of something. It’s amazing how much the right environment can make such a difference in both physical and mental strength. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this journey already—I’m excited for what’s to come! ???”

“My best decision made so far of joining Big Shoulders CrossFit. Before joining, Brendan the owner was really nice to go through what is unique about CrossFit as I have never tried before. All the coaches are really talented and they look at your form very attentively, which is what we need if we are new to something. They check your form after starting the actual exercise patiently.I highly recommend anyone who wants to try CrossFit as a beginner to give Big Shoulders CrossFit a try and it is going to be worth it!!”

“I was with OTF back in 2021 for 6 months and came back in July 2023 and still go today. Every type of person comes here and I love it. Old, young, different body types, fitness levels - it's a great community!
The studio is immaculate and always clean. Not only do they have you wipe down a machine/station when you're done with it, but they will also clean after morning/evening sessions. The front desk staff is always friendly and willing to help answer any questions you may have. There are lockers on-site with locks so you can lock your items away while you're in class. Along with showers as well if you need it after class. The classes are never fully booked with a wait list (I've had yet to see that happen unless it's a specialty class).
It may be a little pricey, but it's well worth it! Look at it as you're paying for personal training within a group setting. I've mainly trained with Coaches Stacy and Tony, and they're amazing! Tell them your goals and what you're looking to accomplish. I also love that they aren't drill sergeants. They can see where your heart rate is at throughout the class on a screen and they're not going to push you to do something you can't (I can't always keep up and that's okay!). They offer modification options if you can't do something. The classes change every day, so it's never the same. The music is always on point and I truly love coming to this OTF to get my workout in and see some great people!”
“This place was my home gym for the last three years I lived in Wheaton. It became a cherished spot for my whole family on our fitness journeys. Coaches Jake and Jeff are incredibly dedicated to their clients, helping them realize they are more capable than they ever thought possible. Our son, who has special needs, worked one-on-one with Coach Donavan and saw immense improvement in his confidence and abilities over his time there.Since moving away, we have yet to find a place like HGA, where you quickly make friends with fellow members and are challenged both mentally and physically to reach your goals.”
“I was introduced by my cycling compound and eager to visit. Currently, I am doing virtual training and interactions. Eric is very attentive and knowledgeable on topics and very client friendly. He keeps clients / participants engaged with his tough love / comical antics. I ve worked out online with both Eric & TPThis training is definitely not for the weak but very much for the committed. As a medical professional and health enthusiast for many years, I am very cautious about whom I give my attention or even take guidance. I honestly often critique one's knowledge before engaging. So far, Eric has been spot on. Drop in for a session or follow / join virtually. The team definitely does not disappoint. Very motivational group.”
“I am considering joining Jordan's gym as he was one of the best guides in helping me to learn weight training several years ago. The place is clean, spacious and friendly, and I can't wait to try their free week. I'll post more later! ?”
“One of the best gyms for the price in this area. It's nicely hidden as well so it's like having your own private gym. Two weight rooms and a cardio room with plenty of great equipment for every need.”
