“I have been banking with Peoples Bank (formerly A. J. Smith Bank) for nearly 40 years. The thing that sets this bank ahead of most banks is their interpersonal skills. They know my name by heart, they link me to my various accounts easily, and when I open accounts I am unfamiliar with, they are excellent with their explanations of the process. Seems like a good place to work too because employee turnover is low.”

“The staff was excellent. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. I came in with my kids, just before closing to open an account. This will generally get you off to a bad start at any business but everyone was so nice. The staff made small talk with the kids and offer and offered them lollipops for waiting patiently. As we walked out the kids commented on how nice everyone was. This went so much more smoothly than I had anticipated. I really appreciate the kindness and patience of everyone at this branch.”

“I have been going to this bank for 5 years now. I thought the Chase on Ridgeland had great customer service and the bank in Orland is incredible. Sheila and Nikki are the best. I could not believe how they called me by my names. They made me feel like I was their good friend. Then Patrick came and he always say Gob Bless you. I love that. They always helped me and were so friendly. The bank manager Mo helped us numerous times. He explained things to us in a simple way so we can understand. I like to thank all the people at this branch for making me feel like family.”

“I have only dealt with 1st Midwest, orig Standard bank since we moved to Orland in ‘94. I prefer customer service and the bankers knowing me over the more modern, online only, tech savvy banking my kids do. 1st Midwest may offer the more modern approach but I am happy with going to the bank and I’ve never been disappointed w service there. I strongly recommend if service matters!”

In contrast, my experience with Rocket Mortgage was disappointing. Despite a strong 19% loan-to-value ratio, they continuously added hurdles, costing me $1,200 in legal work, declined the loan, then went silent without follow-up. The difference between PNC and Rocket Mortgage was night and day.”
“I have never really trusted a bank before Huntington. I admit that I was nervous when I heard they were buying out my previous banking institution (TCF) but I have nothing but compliments to say about Huntington. They have numerous locations which is great if I am on the go. The employees are always friendly and are willing to take the time to make sure you feel comfortable with everything, answering all of your questions. I like their atms too, I can deposit cash directly into my checking account with my card, pull out money, deposit checks, etc. Their app is also really friendly as well!”
