βVery nice Aldi. Clean and well organized. Helpful and nice staff. Prices are very good as well. Some limited options, but I highly recommend this store for quality food at great prices.β
βCounty market couldn't help, harvest market couldn't help. Nathan was our hero that day. Nathan is a great employee/human. Above and beyond for the win!β
βReview written 9/29/2024. Itβs very disappointing how they removed most regular check out lanes and now only have self check out and one remaining regular one. Part of the Aldi experience used to be their speedy check out process. Itβs sad that they donβt want to hire enough staff and that they now make customers slowly ring up items at self check out without being able to use the belt and scan quickly in regular checkout. :(
You need to bring a quarter for the carts like a typical Aldi. And you need to bring your own bags or buy them at the store.
Overall, Aldi is much better priced than just about any grocery store you can find.
This location seems to be out of some items a lot though.
But still, I highly recommend Aldi; it has some delicious food and better prices than most stores. Iβd recommend the Savoy Aldi location over this one though.β

βReview written 02/07/2025. (I am one of the owners of this co-op along with likely thousands of others). Very unique and interesting place. Removing one star because the prices are unaffordable for most people. But itβs a very welcoming environment with great food products.
They also have cooking classes and other cool events.β
βClean store, well-organized and tidy! Good selection of products, although it seems a bit pricey to me. I was promptly assisted at checkout, and didn't have to wait at all for someone to come up front, which I greatly appreciate!β
βI always have a great experience shopping at Rickβs .. store is always clean and very-well organized .. employees always kind and helpful. So thankful for Rick being in Villa Grove.β
βThis place is amazing. They have an enormous stock of fresh vegetables and every item from every Asian cultures cooking that one could want The best thing is the friendly and helpful the staff.β
βThis location used to be a County Market years ago. Now itβs a partial grocery store and partial resale store. A lot of people like this store but Iβm confused why some of the groceries are so expensive here when itβs supposed to be like a safe haven for people experiencing poverty.
Yes prices are rising everywhere nowadays but check out the prices on the photos I posted here. Over $9 for some peppers? ?
Not the storeβs fault but people steal carts from this store often (see photo)
But thank you to Salt and Light for being a place with food in this region of Urbana that is considered a βfood desertββ
βThus store has almost everything if you're looking to cook authentic Mexican food. We went for piloncillo and found it without much hassle in their spices section. They also have a lot of drinks and snacks. I haven't tried their butcher products but looks high quality.β

βThey have friendly staff. I love their snacks. I always buy lots of mochi when I come here. I would definitely recommend the lemon mochi and the taro mochi. It tastes amazing with a good price. I like to buy different fruits from places and the red dragon fruit from here is cheaper than some other places I've been too. Would recommend checking this place out.β
βAlways have something we need. 4 types of cheese cubes? Great premade meals, fabulous bulk spice section, wonderful jug 'o' queso to put their delightful chorizo into!β
βWent in to Schnucks on mattis to buy a floral arrangement and Patricia (Trish) did an amazing Job not only did she listen to what my vision was but she went above and beyond to make it even more beautiful β€οΈ will 100% be going back to see her soon ?β

βWe needed some unique spice for a meal we were making together. We found it here when we could find it nowhere else. So for those hard to find spices just might be the place to look.β
βSurprising selection, including various produce, several basmati rice options, lentils, ethnic spices, and so on. The prices seem quite reasonable. Helpful staff.β

βGreat variety, you can find pretty much any Indian spice you are looking for here. Owner is nice and helpful, one time I was going to buy something similar to naan thinking it was savory, and he let me know it was sweet so I switched it for something different. Reasonable prices as well! Anyone complaining about the $10 credit card minimum probably isnβt aware that businesses need to pay a small fee for every credit card transaction so itβs totally fair for a small business have that ruleβ
βTried the Smokey Poblano Pepper and Cheese Soup. I thought it would be too spicy, but it actually had a really nice warming smokey flavor and very thick. It was a bit expensive at $6.99 a pound with little veggies, so I stretched it out with more corn and some diced potatoes for several servings. Would try again as a filler.β
βVisiting from the Northeast, I had no idea how big this store was going to be. Although I expected it to be large like a Wegmans, it was probably twice that size and closer to the size of a Walmart Supercenter. Unlike Walmart, they have a bakery, butcher, etc. on site. The huge size made it difficult to find what I needed in the store as everything was very spread out. Luckily, I was able to find most of what I needed. The biggest problem was that not only was there a shortage of cashiers, but at self-checkout, there was a long line.β
βPretty solid grocery store. The prices are okay, probably similar to Meijer. If you've ever been to a jewel osco, this is very similar. The parking lot is big, but I rarely ever see this place full even in the weekends. They have a good selection of items, but the produce can be pricy.β
βLove it since it's been redone and rebranded. Great selection and decent prices.
Only thing I would address is a few of the associates there aren't very friendly or don't go out of their way to provide a friendly experience (ten foot rule, smiling, etc).
One exception to this is the super friendly women at the self checkout that are there most of the times we go.
Always kind to us and our son and thank us for shopping. Get more like those 2 women.β
βI love itEveryone at both location are very nice I enjoy shopping for one thing the champagne store is cleaner than on the Springfield store it's more organized in Springfield store and I'm on my lifetime customer I'd like the prices I wish we got a Krogers hereβ

βSells halal chicken, halal ground beef, halal lamb, and lots of Veggie burger and Veggie chicken options. I also like to get morning star plant-based items here. It's clean and consistent. Sometimes hard to find stuff using their app. Prices are higher here in general than other grocery stores in the area. They are quick to bag and load your items back into your cart for you so that's really nice. In general, there are items here you can't find in-store other places.β
βThis is a cute Korean Asian store that has the gist of your basic Korean ingredients for cooking. Given it's a small store the prices are a little expensive but workable. They have select precut meats that are great for KBBQ and Korean side dishes "banchan" that make meal prep super duper easy. Me and my husband love the pickled garlic stems. They also have prepped ingredients for bibimbap, where all you need is to add rice. If you're looking for basic Korean staples, you can go wrong checking this place out.β
βLow prices, fair selection, no frills. Bring your own bag, and a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. It's a Kroger discount store, so you're getting Kroger house brand stuff.β
βFor Dollar General stores, this one is not too bad. It's in need of a good scrub and reorganization but that's pretty typical of most Dollar General stores. Toilet paper is usually in stock. The frozen food section has a nice variety. The staff are nice but they always seem overworked/understaffed.β
βClean. Well kept and staffed. Produce is better than average. If you like cherry tomatoes, try the Sweet Pops brand. I've never seen them anywhere else and they are way better than the competitors.β
