“I don’t know if people have noticed how hard it has become to cash in coins for cash but fewer places allow it and fewer do it without charging a significant percentage, up to 12%, I have found.Others only let you donate the change amount to a few big charities or get gift cards for unpopular chain restaurants.At MACU, if you have an account, you can convert change to cash without paying a % or a service fee. Easy stuff.If you are not a member the fee is 8.9% which is on the low end of competing services like CoinStar, etc.But instead you should open an account because you want to be associated with a credit union that cares about their customers and provides great customer service and then it is fee free.”
