“I rented from TLT for about a year. It was a good place in a quiet neighborhood. It was a decent price in comparison to other studios in the area. Todd was very accepting of my pets, which was absolutely wonderful. The only minor complaint/suggestion was the laundry room/area was less than desirable and the dryer wasn't the best. The building was older, so a few things, such as the stairs, needed a little updating. Overall though, I would recommend TLT properties to anyone who would ask me about landlords/rental agencies in the area.”

“Smith apartment is the best landlord in Champaign Urbana. They are very easy to communicated with and even willing to go out of their way to help you with. I have some problem with my rent paymnet once, and when I finally payed my rent it was two month late, they did not charge anything extra at all. The maintainence crews are also amazing and response quickly to calls.”

“Their maintenance deserves 5 star because it is fast and efficient. Other services need improvement. I left the unit in decent condition but they charged me for cleaning and painting. I reached out to them via email several times to ask for clarification about those charges, but they didn’t even reply my emails. I called them several times to follow up on my inquiry, but they just told me that all communications would be done through email. I never received any emails to clarify the charges and answer my questions.
Finally, they replied my email after 4 months. I would suggest that they should at least let you know that it might take longer to be processed. Also, they should avoid or reduce the charges on wear and tear able stuff like paint and carpet.”

“My friends and I stayed in a 4 bd 4.5 bath townhouse here for a year a while ago and had a really pleasant experience overall. Our apartment was nice and maintenance was extremely responsive to work orders. The only real complaint is that it seemed like the place was not cleaned well previous to move in (nothing major, just seemed like they didn't vacuum) and one of the beds provided was found in pieces. Luckily, we did not need to use it so we did not place a work order, but it was a surprise when we got the keys. The appliances are not top of the line, but they do the job. These apartments are very conveniently located and it was an easy commute to campus and work. The county and city police patrol the complex regularly which is nice, so the ghetto and trouble stays away (mostly)...you feel relatively safe. One thing to note, the complex did not have cameras when we lived there, and there were rumors of break-ins to vehicles...this may have changed. Being able to walk to Colbert park to walk and/or play Volleyball was soooo nice. This is one of the most affordable, clean and well maintained student focused housing options in CU in my opinion. If I were to do it all again, I would choose the village for all 4 years of my time in CU.”
