“Domenick and John are standup guys. I brought my 65 Barracuda to them thinking the automatic trans was toast. They had the guy who specializes in older cars check the car out. Upon returning to pick the car up Domenick explained to me that they could not properly diagnose the trans problem accurately because the previous owner I bought the car from boogered up the Lokar kickdown cable. It was hooked to the trans correctly but the carb hookup was done wrong and the cable did not work. Turned out part of the problem was the carb was the wrong type. Domenick actually showed me how this kickdown cable should operate and showed me why it didn't work. After getting the car home I fabbed up a linkage extension, hooked the cable up, made a couple of adjustments, and the trans works. Went in with terrible forward gears to hooking this cable up and now having great forward gears and passing kickdown. So...I did not need the trans after all. This could have been a costly repair but Domenick took the time to explain the problem to me at no charge and my fab work cost about 3 bucks. How many trans shops would have just tossed a new trans in the car, no explanation until the new trans didn't work right and charge more for the stuff I did. The guys at Affordable are honest and helpful guys who run and honest business. If you need your car worked on this is the place to go and these are the guys you want working on your car.
