“I visited Springfield, IL last month to say goodbye to my wonderful childhood friend who was dying of cancer. When researching on Google for a decent hotel that was reasonably priced, this one kept coming up. Since I was traveling, my husband made the reservation for me. When I checked in, the woman at the desk was kind and very helpful in getting my room. The hotel is near the interstate which is convenient, and there are a few restaurants nearby that have good ratings as well. The hotel is a little tired and has some wear and tear if you look hard, but is very clean, serviceable, comfortable and with a great staff! There is no breakfast offered at this hotel, but the room has a full sized kitchen in a small space with everything you could possibly need to make a meal. They do have food for sale in a room down near the desk if you just want something quick to microwave or just have a snack. There is also a grocery store about a mile north of the hotel at the corner of Dirksen Pkwy and S. Grand Ave along with some Tesla super chargers. They have all of the shower amenities you would need in the bathroom, like shampoo, conditioner and body soap, as I'd forgotten mine in my rush to get up north. The bed, bedding and pillows (offering a combination of soft and firm pillows) was very comfortable and I think I had the best sleep I'd had in a while! All of the people I interacted with at this hotel were kind, courteous and full of knowledge of the area. One person in particular stood out, and her name was Chantaria (I sure hope I spelled it right). She was the one that helped me with check in (as there was a slight issue) and I had the most wonderful conversation with her later on when I came back down to ask some questions. I will definitely stay with Candlewood Suites in Springfield on any future trips I make to the area, they offer a clean, comfortable and safe place to stay with a wonderful staff!”

“Took our Girl Scout troop for a field trip here. My girls loved it. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. The horses were gentle and the girls could ride, pet, and brush them. The added bonus was the kind turkey that followed us around and invited everyone to pet it.”

“Attended a Lent fish fry. Good food, good quantity (all you can eat Walleye), and reasonable for beverages and you can get beer+. Nice building with lots of seating.”
“If you have the bank for high end, one of a kind home decor and furniture, get your booty in here and shop! If I won the lottery, I would be cleaning this place out. It has a great mix of styles and time periods, antiques mixed with new items. Most price tags start in the 3 digits and go up to the very high 5 digits. I had an awesome time just looking as there are several very large rooms to go through. The entry door faces Monroe St, that wasn't clear on Google maps and there are several entries to that building.”
“We had an amazing time!! The staff working til close on 11/30 (night strick) were AWESOME!! I could tell the kitchen was pretty busy but the guy working it did such a great job handling it! The guy who took care of us at the register to get our shoes and lanes was fantastic! A very fun time and atkmosphere- I will be taking the family back more often. Also, the food we ordered (sampler platter) was delish!! I do however wish they had cheese sauce for the pretzels. 10/10 recommend!”
