“I had a great experience at CPR Cell Phone Repair in Skokie. I spilled some water on my 14-inch MacBook Pro and started having issues with the power button. I first took it to the original retailer, and they told me that since I only had the extended warranty and not accidental coverage, my only option was to send it to Apple for repair at an estimated cost of around $1,900. That was obviously not what I wanted to hear.
I then brought my laptop to CPR and worked with Edgar, and I’m very glad I did. He quickly diagnosed the problem and found corrosion where the power button connects to the motherboard. He explained everything clearly and was honest about the repair. Edgar fixed the issue for a fraction of the cost and my MacBook works perfectly now. Professional, knowledgeable, and fair pricing. I highly recommend CPR in Skokie and especially Edgar if you want real solutions without getting ripped off.”

“PS5 had HDMI problems. Took it to two Franchise operations. One tried to sell me an insurance policy and told me to wait 40 days to wait for the policy to take effect because they said it was a motherboard issue. The other had me go into the store just to tell me they don't fix PS5s even though I filled out their online form. Danny took my box, plugged it in, told me he'd have it ready the next day, and sure enough, was ready the next day. True professional, support your local businesses.”

Starting with a repair on the volume pot on my college 1980 Aiwa integrated amp that I was sure was destine for the recycle bin. I've got a higher end Tandberg power, preamp and FM tuner set that he keeps like new for me. Be ready to see more piled up old electronics than you've ever seen in one place. “Over the last two months I found two occasions to give C& K Electronics a 5-star review.The first was related to a dishwasher control board that was not working, was no longer made, nor replacment units available anywhere.Upon taking the unit to C&K Electonics, Perry repaired while I waited.Two weeks ago my stove began beeping with a F1 error code. This control board was also found to no longer be made, nor supported by the manufacturere.I took to to Perry to review and one day later he had it repaired. One hour later the stove was back working.”

“I had to take my JBL Ti-6k floor speakers, with curved sail shaped cabinets (only 5 surfaces), that were never available for sale in US to a shop that could repair and refurbish them. My speakers were particularly challenging due to post location(on the bottom), and cabinet shape. I had purchased some audio gear from Saturday Audio Exchange previously, so I called them and asked who does their repairs. I was told Van L Speaker works.
When I dropped my speakers off, John took the time to demo some his own units, and talk through advantages of a curved cabinet, but also the challenges due to the shape. He had produced curved cabinets previously, and his knowledge on the subject was staggering. These unicorn speakers were in good hands.
I was called with some upgrade options for my speakers, and updated timelines.The drivers, the component upgrades, and the work done have given these rare birds an incredible new life. The first time I heard them , I couldn't stop giggling. These have gone from extremely rare to irreplaceable, and I could not be happier or more pleased with the work that was performed. Van L's expertise is a premium service. Advice is part of the price. As I build my new system around these speakers, I called a week after I picked them up to get some advice for a receiver. Frank took time, and gave me the information I needed, and stopped me from making a purchase mistake I would have rather not lived with.
Don't go anywhere else, go here.”

“I have used Scott several times. My first experience with Scott involved a Charmille 440 CC wire EDM machine. Scott went through several boards that the manufacturer suggested could be failing. After examining the components of these boards he determined they were in working order. Turned out to be a door switch.Scott recently did an amazing job repairing the generator boards on my AgieCharmilles P550. Incredibly the machine would still run, but at significantly reduced speed. He replaced several components and now the machine is running as good as new. These are very complex boards. I would recommend Scott to anyone who has electronics issues with their equipment. If it’s not broke he tells you. If it is he is the guy you want fixing it.”
