“Heather, who works in the check out lane, is one of the nicest employee's I have ever met! She was a great help to my cousin and I. My cousin forgot her phone in the check out lane, Heather noticed and put it at the service desk for us to come back and get. When we came back in she knew what we were looking for. Heather has a great personality, energy and is overall such an amazing person!! thank you Heather!!”

“I've been to a couple Daiso stores in Chicagoland including this location. Overall it's a Japanese version of a dollar store or five below. What's super unique is almost everything in the store is an import from Japan. I think a few food items are technically made here like the dry ramen, but it's owned & operated by a Japanese company with a US Presence for example.

Otherwise you will find home goods to random things from Japan. Personally I think Japanese goods, especially everyday goods, are a solid quality at an affordable price. They show the currency conversions since many things are listed in yen and in Japanese.

One final note, don't go in there thinking how the yen is currently being traded to the US dollar. In reality there is a slight upcharge where 200yen is about $2-3 there. With currency conversions, 200yen would be like $1.27 right now when I wrote this. Be mindful they are paying tariffs importing these goods, and the default hourly wage at these stores are more than Japan. Fact of the matter is most their goods are cheap, and when you want something simple like a plastic reusable bottle for the gym, it's like $3. The same thing at other stores is like $10-30. Basic everyday goods at good prices is what makes Daiso amazing.”
