“About 18 months ago I moved from a 1-bedroom apartment in one state to a single bedroom in a shared house in a different state. I had never seen the storage unit facility before and never used a storage unit. I did not know how big a unit I needed either, and was struggling to figure out what would be right. I was able to talk to a real person when I called Public Storage pretty quickly, and they were able to help me figure out how large a unit I needed and to set everything up so it would be ready when I moved.
I was dreading getting everything out of my U-haul and into my unit, but when I got there, there were flat carts available. No extra charge, and enough that my family and I could make several trips at once. It was incredibly easy when I got there as well, the lock and key were in my unit as I had been told they would be, all I had to do was load the unit and lock the door. I was able to access my unit whenever I needed to, and I never felt unsafe, even going alone. I had a code to enter and exit, and there was room for 2 vehicles to be side by side, even if one was a truck. The first time I accessed my unit after moving, I did not lock it completely correctly and I got a call that evening from an employee of Public Storage. I was very impressed to see how responsive they were, and that they check the facility regularly.
There was one rent increase in the 18 months I was there, but it was less than $50 more, and I was informed of the change on the app, by email, and by letter. When I was able to move into a new apartment, setting up the move out date was extremely simple. I could do it on the app, and I did not have to provide much notice. I still got an email and a phone call from a person to make sure I knew to take my lock and make sure I was out by the date I had given. The requirements when moving out are also posted on the latch of each unit. Move out was pretty smooth and I get to keep my lock.
All in all, it was a great experience. Thank you Public Storage. If I every need a unit again, I will definitely come back.”

Barb from the Lombard location reached out and was able to help with any questions and or issues that I had. Because of my interaction with her and a few agents that I spoke with over the telephone.
