“This is one of my favorite gaming stores because of their excellent selection of board games, warhammer 40k stuff, figurines, you name it, but what I am into most lately is the DCC (Dungeon Crawler Classics) series, and Heroines keeps a good stock of individual campaigns and some of the larger DCC box sets available. The owner and staff are always friendly, and the space is much larger on the inside than it looks, making it a good venue for the events they have scheduled (the store is located inside what used to be a public library branch). They also have a decent selection of books and graphic novels, many of which are fantasy or scifi oriented.”
“Tim’s Baseball Card Shop is hands down my favorite card shop in Chicago. My daughter and I have been coming here together for years, and it’s become one of those places we genuinely look forward to visiting every month.
Tim and MJ are local, incredibly knowledgeable, and just great people to talk cards with. We’re strictly baseball card collectors, and their selection is always fantastic, with a great mix of hobby boxes, blasters, and plenty of slabbed cards to dig through. Just as important, the pricing is always fair and I’ve never felt like they’re trying to take advantage of what’s hot at the moment.
There’s also something special about supporting a true neighborhood card shop run by people who know the hobby and care about the people who walk through the door. After years of visits, it still feels like a treat every time my daughter and I walk in. Tim’s is absolutely worth a visit.”
“Amazing place! Our 12 year old son has been shopping there since he was 7. The selection is truly great, and they are willing to work with different options for a collector who doesn't have vast amounts of money to spend on every stop. “This place is awesome! It is the best hidden secret of a bead store in Chicago for gems and other beads. Truly gorgeous products (all kinds of real gemstones that I wanted to buy them all) and Anna and Diana are lovely people who are so helpful and kind. Glad to support this woman owned business. “I used to live nearby & spent many hours in this store. The owners are wonderful! I bought so many collector Barbie’s & a few Gene dolls. I met the designer of the gene doll, Mel Odom at an event at the store, got his autograph. It was such fun! I plan on passing all those Barbie’s down to my 2 granddaughters (ages 16 & 18) when they get a bit older. They have picked which ones they want. I live in cali now & miss shopping at gigis dolls. It’s a great place to shop & I highly recommend it! Wish I lived closer so I could go say hello & get some more dolls! If you love dolls you have to check out their store, you’ll be in heaven!”

“As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted and hit with nostalgia. The owner is really hospitable, chill, and knowledgeable of his inventory and history of collectibles. The store is organized by categories, well displayed, and fairly priced. I picked up out-of-box figures and were in excellent condition. I highly recommend this store!”
“We picked up a Pokémon Center 151 ETB and a Crown Zenith ETB from this shop and had a great experience. I actually called right after they had closed the day before, and he still answered and kindly asked me to call back the next day. When we came in, he was super friendly, easy to work with, and gave us a great deal on both ETBs.
We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Bergie! We were finally able to add the missing ETB to our personal collection. My cousin shops here for sports cards and has always said he gets great deals, and now I can see why.”

“I was at the store on Monday, 8/10. At checkout, I was greeted by Timothy and Jack, both so pleasant. Upon returning to my car, I realized I did not have my keys. I returned to the store about four times, trying to retrace my steps. I wanted to cry like a baby!!
Long story short, Timothy offered to help me search, and I’m not kidding...the first place he looked, HE FOUND MY KEYS!! I was (and am!) so happy. It had been a crazy several days leading up to that moment.

“I wonder if there’s anything different between Hobby Lobby and Michael’s art store. They seemed to sell similar things. 10 days before Christmas and Hobby Lobby is already having 60% off Christmas stuffs?
Maybe Hobby Lobby is a hair cheaper but also the interior is slightly darker and can use a remodeling.”

“We took some 100-year-old blueprints that we found in our bungalow to Bleachers and even though the blueprints were in really rough shape, they managed to make them look amazing! And all for a very reasonable price! Would definitely recommend for any framing needs.”
