“Price wise it's not bad for most things. That's if you can find a price. Some of the pricing wasn't readily viewable. The atmosphere of the store was nice reminding a bit of a lodge without the wood everywhere. Now the real issue I had was outdoor.
While the store can give off a Ross vibe, my concern wasn't marketing strategy but looking for outdoor stuff. It felt hodgepodge and clustered. More like accessories than actual stuff I'd use as an avid outdoorsman. They did have a few things I liked but in comparison to bulk of this section I'd say 15%. And then as the store pushes the outdoor marketing, I felt like the pet section was bigger and had more to offer.
I think with a little more clearer organization and a aisle or three expansion in outdoors, this would be a well rounded store. As it is right now it's more of a toe dippers introduction into outdoor adventures as seen on family TV. But for what it is and reasonably priced I can see the family oriented market being satiated for a while.”

“Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go into your VonMaur Store in Bloomington/Normal Illinois. It should be noted that my friend and I received incredible customer service from Karen in women’s clothing, Ann in Jewelry and from a gentleman who helped us in Men’s Clothing. All three Sales Reps were juggling other people while we were shopping (and asking questions as well) and they showed extreme adaptability, knowledge of inventory, patience, and kindness. We were seriously going to walk out with nothing when Karen asked us to try a couple of different dresses and in different sizes and to make a long story short, we both bought the last dress that each of us tried on because of her incredible salesmanship and knowledge of the product, material and fit! A great experience to shop in your stores and she even surpassed the attention test that I always attributed to only boutiques.”
“I feel like Macy's has made improvements over the past several years, there was a time when it was a bit of a mess and akin to Kohl's with everything always on sale. It's looking and feeling better now. I did notice on a recent trip that the men's dress clothing section has dramatically decreased - the tie selection isn't what it used to be. On a second recent trip I needed an analog wrist watch that met some very specific requirements and was under $100 and the sales lady in the watch section really stepped up to help, even though it was a small purchase in comparison to most of the other watches there. Not only did she find me exactly what I needed, she provided me with options and double checked the product information online to make sure it met my needs.”

“I visited from Canada and stopped by Nordstrom Rack in Oakbrook to shop for sunglasses and I must say, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had at any Nordstrom Rack. Tammy was an absolute gem! She helped me pick out the perfect pair with honesty and care, never hesitating to tell me which styles didn’t suit me. Her energy was warm, and her sincerity truly stood out.

“This Meijer is huge and I've never seen it busy, even on the weekends! The grocery side of the store can get a little busy but the center household/clothing section and the home improvement section on the other side is always empty. If you walk around for long enough you'll start finding the secret clearance sections!”

“Customer service was surprisingly excellent. I was asked by more than one person there if I needed help or if they could do anything for me. I think I was asked four times by different people and twice by one man. That's really excellent. They can be proud of that.
Found another cologne that I like. I like the Arabic colognes of Oud wood. Lately they have had quite a few. Should have bought the one box that they had of a different type but still Arabic. Quite nice. These better colognes surprisingly are in the cheaper section, not in the boxes that are locked up.”

“I was looking for a mirror and found a few here, from small size to the one I got, 48 x 76 inches. I asked if someone could help me with it, and soon, two people did help me get it with their cart.
The person at the register was friendly and fast, I paid and also got a bit of help getting the mirror on my vehicle.
They had many registers open when the line got longer.
The store was clean, there is plenty of free parking right in front.
Overall I like the store and I'll come back.”

“I like this store a lot and I bought lots home furnishing items from it. They help me carry a rug to my car before.
But today I went to return two items and this staff looked at me and pointed at everything behind him and said, if you can find a spot to put these on that shelf, I will process your return. He wasn’t joking or just trying to be funny. Not nice. He did process my return but why do you have to say that to me. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed but why take it out on me.”
“Although customer service wasn’t able to help me with what I needed I’m not going to be sour grapes and give them a bad review because their customer service was excellent and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. I didn’t get the results I liked, but they were still very good at what they did.The store is extremely well stocked with a huge variety of items!Each department has a good variety of items and sizes and the racks are extremely full.The store is easy to get to from the parking lot. I would have been upset if I left and found out I paid a price for two tops and only recieved one. Not only did Irena catch this, she then proceeded to find the matching second top!”
“I recently visited JCPenney for the first time in many years, and the experience reminded me why in-store shopping still has its own kind of magic. I decided to stop in on Black Friday, mostly out of curiosity, and I was genuinely surprised by how many great deals I found. From clothing to home items, the discounts were impressive, and I ended up picking up far more than I expected simply because the prices were too good to pass up.
What stood out most was how enjoyable it felt to actually browse through the store. There’s something refreshing about seeing the merchandise in person, feeling the fabrics, comparing colors, and stumbling across unexpected finds. It’s an experience that clicking buttons online just can’t replicate. Walking through the aisles brought back a bit of nostalgia too—JCPenney has that familiar department-store charm that’s increasingly rare these days.
The store was organized, easy to navigate, and the staff was helpful even with the holiday rush. Instead of dealing with shipping delays or guessing how something will look when it arrives, I left with everything I wanted right away.
Overall, my return to JCPenney was a pleasant surprise, filled with great deals and the simple enjoyment of shopping the old-fashioned way. It definitely won me back.”
“This Macy’s has always been one of my favorite stores at Woodfield Mall, even dating back to when it was Marshall Field’s. It’s a great anchor store with a wide selection and a layout that makes it easy to spend time browsing.
The store is three stories, so you can find a little bit of everything—from clothing and shoes to makeup, handbags, and home goods. I especially love the purse and shoe selection here, which always seems to have a great variety of styles.
One of my regular stops is the Clinique counter. It’s my go-to for skincare products, and I’ve always had good experiences there when shopping for face care.
The only small downside is that the perfume counters can sometimes feel a bit pushy, but that’s fairly typical for most department stores. It doesn’t take away from the overall experience.
Overall, this Macy’s location has a great selection, plenty to explore, and it’s always a store I enjoy visiting when I’m at Woodfield Mall.”
