“I stopped in to pick up some things for my son's car at the Countryside location. Needless to say, car parts are not my area of expertise. I received EXCELLENT customer service from Eric! He was beyond helpful and friendly. He even put on the new windshield wipers I purchased! Give him a raise!!”
“Go to this O’Reilly in Hickory Hills, not the AutoZone across the street! They have better customer service, better prices, and their system works.
I went to AutoZone for a cap. I gave them my license plate and VIN…. but they couldn’t find my vehicle in their system. They asked for my make and model, which I gave, then if it was a 4 or 6 cylinder. I was pretty sure it was 6 but wasn’t definite. When I said I didn’t know, the guy helping me made a comment I considered rude: “Usually people know that information.” I didn’t feel comfortable guessing 6 if I wasn’t sure.
I went back to my Jeep to check, but couldn’t find anything to confirm it. By the time I came back, it was another guy helping me. When I returned and said 6, they found a cap matching the illustration on mine, so it was 6 cylinder. The radiator cap I needed was over $100 and wasn’t in stock at AutoZone… He had a different cap in hand and said I could get that one, but I didn’t want to buy a cap that didn’t match mine. When I asked the difference, he said…. I don’t know, they’re both caps……

Anyways, I didn’t buy anything and went to O’Reilly.
Oscar at O’Reilly was helpful from the start. He has a Jeep too, so from personal knowledge, he knew it was most likely a 6 cylinder. Their system actually worked, and he confirmed it for me … plus, to double-check, he even came outside to look at it. I didn’t expect him to do that, so when I noticed O’Reilly went the extra mile while AutoZone didn’t … especially after I had to go outside several times to get my VIN and figure out the cylinder count … I really appreciated it. Oscar suggested checking it right away and explained to me why I most likely needed a new cap. He seemed very knowledgeable. Plus, the exact cap my auto shop said I needed was $55 cheaper in O’Reilly .

“Dropped by to have my battery check for warranty, i was lucky to meet Alexandr, a very helpful, and polite, young man, who offered to carry my heavy battery into the store, he checked the battery, said it was beyond the warranty, he said he could try and charge it, but to be safe, i should get a new Duracell battery for my BMW, which I did, Alexander, even carried it out to my car.
Great service from Alexander, which is a hallmark, of Batteries Plus. I go the when ever I need batteries, great price, and great people to deal with. One time they delivered a battery to our company, which saved us a lot of time.”

“My wife and I were traveling from Connecticut heading north on 57 when a piece of the undercarriage in front came loose and was flapping making all kinds of noise. A bolt was missing, and parts were broken off from the front bumper underneath.
I saw the O'Reilly's from the highway and decided to see if maybe I could fix it with duct tape or something.
Tommy was at the counter, and I explained the situation and he recommended twist ties and gave me a couple of good tips.
So, Tommy. Your advice was perfect. The twist ties endured over 900 miles of highway driving since we were there Friday the 20th. We returned home Monday night without any further issues.

“I've had to use this store a couple few times because I'm a single mom and pretty handy so diy is a thing. They were very helpful each time I went including not having a taillight I needed which actually saved me almost $200 by finding it on eBay. “Roberto was TOP TIER when it came to replacing my headlight bulbs & provided the best customer service. I initially went to the 4719 South Cottage Grove location and was told to find someone to install. And I also found out they sold me the wrong bulbs. Which is annoying; I was expecting them to sell the correct bulbs & to replace them. So I came to the Oak Forest Location and Roberto replaced with the correct bulbs & did it in 10min! A LIFESAVER! Truly Grateful!”
