“I gave a UPS package to USPS. I realized 3 days later the situation, so I went to go check the post office. Although the package was not there, the front desk lady assured me that it was being rerouted to the right destination. Not saying that these other comments aren't valid in their concerns, because they have good points. However, I would like to point out that USPS has a policy that they can destroy mail that's not theirs. This post office didn't do that, thankfully. To anyone selling on Ebay/Mecari and made this same mistake recently, don't worry too much about it. Everything should get sorted out by itself, but you should still check and ask the post office.”
“My experience with this postal office is excellent. Customer service representative took care of my needs while we didnt have power due to recent tornado storm that affected power and had hardly access to an open post office that had power.”
“Last month I came by to receive my two packages and first off, why are the opening hours so inconvenient? But the lady behind the counter was nice enough and I did end up receiving my packages so it wasn't too bad.”
“Don’t listen to the negative reviews, because if any of the ladies were “rude” to those customers, they absolutely did something to deserve it. These ladies are so kind and helpful.
I ship a lot of packages for my small business, and I’ve used a lot of USPS locations. This one is the kindest and most reliable by far! My packages are always scanned in same-day, and I haven’t had a single one lost since I started coming to this location.
To those of you complaining about the wait time, this location is very busy, and they only have two registers. If you have packages with prepaid labels, just leave them on the counter and the ladies will scan them in. You don’t have to wait. You can also do most things online to avoid having to wait in person. :)”
“I moved to Lansing from the North Side of Chicago about 8 months ago, and I visit this post office all the time now. I absolutely love it here! The workers are always so friendly, helpful, and willing to take the time to explain things to me whenever I have questions. One staff member, Cindy, is especially fantastic, she is always pleasant and greets me with a warm smile. This is truly the most pleasant post office I have ever visited in my entire life!”
“I visited this place 2 years ago. I went because a friend had a high school graduation party here. The place is VERY roomy and a nice sized kitchen. I’m not a veteran, but my father is a Vietnam veteran, and I’ve been wanting to visit the bar there (the bartender was very friendly and professional) but I don’t think I can because I’m not a veteran. However, very nice place. I may rent it out for my birthday (if I’m able to)!!!”

“This is an updated review, from my previous 1-star, negative review. I am happy to say that the other individuals from both East Chicago locations, have now retired!! Now, we have new younger staff. Forgive me if that’s a horrible comparison, but then generation we will in today encourages proper communication. These new people carry on a conversation, they are friendly, and they are definitely there to help you; they are not upset or bitter (yet)! I hope these individuals continue being the familiar faces for the years to come, even if I don’t go to the post office that many times in a year. Thank you, upper management, for taking the time to see who was already working for you, and hopefully see this position as a promotion… customer service, is not easy!! Thanks again — PS, thank you for taking the extra time for finding the black envelope that my dad said was to be returned to sender! -FC”
“Karen is the best! I stopped by this afternoon, 4/27 and she made the passport renewal process feel like a walk in the park! She is very professional and friendly - Thanks again!”

“Service is very quick and employees are pretty knowledgeable of services offered. Every time I come to this location, even when there is a line I'm always in and out. Among many this is by far the best post office that I've visited yet.”
“Had a passport appointment today for my son, Ashea helped us and she was amazing! Super friendly and explained the next steps for my son's passport. It was super quick and easier than I thought it would be. Thanks Ashea, keep up the great work!?”
“I went into the Calumet City Post office. The counter person Donald was very nice and helpful. He came to the counter and the line began to move. In and out. Kudos to Donald”
“Last week, I had to send some important documents off. I usually go to Highland, but didn't want to drive that far. My experiences at the Tolleston branch were soooo horrible, just got tired of the rudeness. This was at least 2 to 3 years ago. My parents used money orders, it's just what they believed in. So when I'd go, the machine would always break down. It was terrible. One lady was so horribly rude, it was ridiculous. When I'd come in she'd roll her eyes, and just be surly!! Then she'd whisper about me to her collegues. This was the 15th & Broadway mostly. Just got tired of horrible service. When I walked in the post office, Teala, hope I spelled it right, was helping another customer. She was so pleasant, conversing with the customer, not rushing her away, answering all her questions. Then the next customer she did the same, accepting her box with no problem. Then it was my turn. I explained what I needed, she explained the process, and even printed my receipt without me having to ask or press the button. She was very thorough and that was definitely A1 customer service. Now I also agree with another persons review. The post offices are waaayyyyy out of date. No self service machines, dark and dingy, still using the old money order machine, and the look is still from the 70's. Not sure what we need to do to get an upgrade, but hopefully it will happen soon!! But thank you Teala, I lost hope in my local post office, and now considering returning.?”

“I personally never had a problem since I've been going there which I have been going for the past several months 7 months to be exact and I never had a problem the only concern I have is that the post office is so small when it is a lot of people in there they stand too close to you that's why I go as early as I can to get in I've never had a problem anytime I go in there I'm not in there for a very long I'm going to get the guy's name and post it here when I go in there today have a wonderful day everyone if that doesn't work for you maybe you should find another post office”
“Henry was absolutely amazing! He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer all of our questions, provided clear guidance, and made sure everything was handled smoothly. Excellent customer service, great communication, and a genuinely positive attitude. Employees like Henry make a huge difference. Thank you for all your help and outstanding support!”
“This is the only local post office I ever want to go to. The two women at the desk have been incredibly helpful every time I go in. My dad has a type of dementia and they are incredibly kind and patient with him. I ended up here after having a horrible experience at Hammond and still needing to mail something and I’m so glad I did.”
“The ladies at the front desk are always so friendly and they always have what I need to ship items. This is by far one of the best post offices I've been to.”

“The woman working inside the post office is very friendly and extremely helpful. I really appreciate the excellent customer service—it's hard to find these days.”
“I was in there a short while ago. One clerk and people all the way to the door, which is typical for most post offices lately. But this clerk was on fire. She got us out very quickly. I was extremely impressed. So kudos and brava to Ashley. She needs an 'S' across her chest because she really kept her line MOVING! SUPER CLERK! MSo to the powers that be- she deserves a bump in pay or something. And instead of being harried or rude, she remained pleasant when most might've been tearing their hair out. Great job Ashley! Excellent work. THANK YOU.”
“Mr. Steven Gutierrez assisted me with a delivery that I needed to make, which included several packages. He offered to help me without hesitation and was extremely courteous, kind, and efficient. He also directed me on how to make future drop offs more easy for myself. Hats off to Steven! Thank you so very much!!”
“The office looks like it's been there since 1910, but the service is as up-to-date and efficient as possible, always a pleasure of visiting here to get things done”

“I really like having a post office near my home in Miller Beach and think my mail carrier Cody is tremendous. My puppy Snoopy isn't so fond of people walking around my home and seems to especially like to bark at our mail carrier but Cody took the time to meet Snoopy and become friends. This was especially terrific and reminded me of when THE DOG WHISPERER introduced a dog on his TV show to the mail carrier with success. I'll forever be grateful of Cody and the Gary postal service, thank yoU.”
“One of my favorite post offices ever! I got my passport here and that was really exciting, service was helpful and polite. I come here out of my way to drop off mail and packages”
“they do the best they can. i used to work in the post office in Germany in the Army. and unless youve ever had that job you couldnt know how hard it gets. when you have people who expect you to mail things with the wrong info, etc, and then get mad if something theyre expecting in the mail gets delivered later than they think. it all takes TIME PATIENCE AND ACCURACY in order for a item to be mailed to someone, if this country would realize that ,mayb there would be less anger and more understanding.,”
