“I stopped by Tom and Ed's Body Shop about a week ago to have them look at a minor repair. The valance, the black trim below the front bumper, had popped loose on the passenger side of the car. I had just left a dealership in Merrillville that had quoted me almost $300. They told me they were giving me a "deal" at that price. I felt it was an excessive amount and decided to stop by Tom and Ed's on my way home to get a second opinion.
They took me right away and someone came out front and looked at the car right away. The gentleman that looked at it, went in the back and got one of his auto body guys to also look at it. His name is Cody. Cody asked if he could pull it around back to get a better look at it. I, of course, said yes and we all jumped out of the car and went into the waiting room.
About 10 minutes later Cody came into the waiting room and said, "ok, you're all set to go". I asked how much I owed him and he said, "nothing". Cody walked us outside, explained what he did, shook my hand, and wished us well.
It's not very often, but every once in a while, someone reminds me there are good decent people in the world. Cody is definitely one of those. I wanted to make sure I posted something on my experience because people like this deserve your business. I had a minor job to look at and they treated me like a customer with a big money repair. On top of the dignified way I was treated, they took me right away and did not charge me a single penny. This is the kind of place I think anyone would appreciate.
And Cody, you are a fine young man. I have three kids, 9 grandkids, and 2 great grandchildren. I would be very proud of any one of them if they behave as you did. Tom and Ed's is very lucky to have you.”
