    “A bustling country grocery store with supplies like yogurt culture for serious homemakers and homesteaders and delightful surprises like homemade butter and raw milk for those just passing through on the way to the lake. Gorgeous fresh produce, lunch meats, homemade bread and bulk commodities like spices and pantry staples. I now have enough bay leaves to get me through the end of my life. Bring cash or checks. They don't take plastic. I'll definitely stop by again. The butter is amazing.”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
