If I could leave negative stars I would. Not sure what is happening to Walgreens these days but expect to always wait a minimum of 20 min to pick up both inside and at the drive through pharmacy- No matter the day and no matter the time, we’ve tried multiple different days and times and it never matters. Some days they are just randomly closed because they don’t have a pharmacist on duty. A lot of times meds aren’t in stock or there is an issue processing with insurance causing delays. Promised pick up times lapse by several hours and unexpected costs arise which you have to search for coupons to help find a lower cost. If they don’t have a med in stock they should find it for you at a different location but they don’t do that anymore so you really have to advocate for yourself. While waiting in line I spoke to a lady that’s been without her thyroid medication for 3 days because it’s out of stock! Walgreens now uses a 3rd party location to “help with calls” which just takes more time to get through to someone because you have to be transferred and repeat your situation multiple times.
The photo center isn’t what it used to be and products are cropped weird and depending who is working in that department that day your projects can either look really nice or really, really bad so always look before you pay! I don’t go into the store anymore or buy anything here anymore because everything is too expensive and even the line to check out for merchandise is painfully long. It’s unfortunate, I used to really love Walgreens and be able to find some fun and different treasures but too much has changed. We will be changing pharmacies and looking for an online photo ordering option.
Also, during the winter they had one employee out shoveling because they failed to set up a plowing service, one person was stuck and I almost got stuck. Had I not needed meds I wouldn’t have been out, when I spoke to the manager he told me it would be 2 days before someone would be out to plow. Again, skip Walgreens and go elsewhere.

This is the Walgreens that’s closest to where I live and is used for prescription medicine. The day for the medicine to be picked up and replenished as it has been done for the past few months they cancelled. Talked to the pharmacy where they said the medicine would be ready at 6:30. The pharmacy proceeded to close at 6pm and was unable to process the prescription. The medicine was cancelled 3 times, we were told to come in by the pharmacy after they have closed and left. Horrible location, service and accountability especially when it comes to people’s medicine.

Incompetent staff and unable to keep prescriptions straight. There should be 0 reason to wait on an hour hold as the 2nd person in line. We will no longer be giving Walgreens our business, and I hope this one closes too, like many others. I can see why

This particular Walgreens has got to have the worst customer service. I know for a fact my RX was sent in yesterday. Got a confirmation email. Show up today and get the standard, we just received it, it will be ready in 20 minutes. I Don’t think it even gets put into the Q until you show up. Absolutely the worst!!!!

Retail is hard, and Walgreen's corporate is enduring tough times. Yet, with associates like Marela and Blanca at the 156th and Hickman store in Waukee -- it's not retail, it's like walking into a Club where you're a preferred member. Great experience. Every time they're working.
