“I stepped into Lowe's after getting paint on my denim jacket. I figured I would go up to the paint department and ask an employee's recommendation on a product I could purchase there to remove the paint. I may be misspelling the name, but an employee by the name of Sydnee was so kind to help and immediately handed over a product employees in the department use, free of charge, to see if it would work! The wipe took the paint right off, but I was just more impressed by how thoughtful and helpful Sydnee was to just hand over the product. While it was such a simple act, it really stood out to me and I just wanted to take a moment and share that Sydnee was great.”

“This is a great little store. I don't know how they fit their extensive inventory in there, but they did. They're always my first stop, and I rarely have to go somewhere else. I do wish they always had someone there who could fill propane tanks, at least during regular business hours. I was in at 2:00 PM mid-week and nobody there knew how to fill a tank.”

The company that remediated the damage would not return our calls . But Eric was great to work with. We also needed to also replace carpet padding and he found someone to do that and the whole process was seamless. He was reliable, kind and went the extra mile.”

“This place is amazing. It’s like going back in a time capsule to the 1950’s. There is not a computer or electronic cash register in the place. The main 3 workers are all in their 80’s! If you need certain screws, nails, a special tool, anything, one of them will go in the “back” or basement, it might take a minute but they will come back with it! Stop and chat them up, it’s a real piece of America!”

“In my newfound attempt to become a novice plumber, specializing in bathroom sinks, I stopped by North Liberty Ace to get a new slip nut. I went to Ace as it is conveniently close by and even though the store is smaller than the usual home improvement store, I knew I would probably find what I needed. I did find it, but it was too small for the pipe I was joining to the wall trap (FYI - bathroom sink pipes are 1.25 inches whereas other pipes in your home are 1.5 inches). When I went back in a second time, I was able to get help from a few people who took the time to understand my problem and get me the correct gasket and slip nut for my wall trap and let me return the nut I had purchased. I appreciated that they were willing to open packaging to take out the products to make sure they would properly fit the pipe I had brought in for my project. In the end, I was able to attach my wall trap to the pipe in the wall, successfully join it to the P-trap and nothing under my sink is leaking! Thanks to the help of the Ace employees, I [finally] got this project done and have a new faucet in my bathroom.”
