Why does it take so long to get mail to anyone in the metro area? I mailed a card from Johnston on Monday to my son who lives in Ankeny (9 miles from me) and he still has not received it 5 days later. I was assured by a postal worker on Monday that it would go to the mail sorting facility that night. His mother-in-law lives 175 miles away and mailed her card the same day. He received hers 2 days later. This is not the first time this has happened.I mailed Halloween cards to 4 grandchildren in the same family. Three got their cards. I got the fourth card returned with a “no such address” stamped on it (so of course I had to get another envelope and stamp because they were good about making sure the stamp and envelope could not be used to forward it again.) The valentine cards I sent to them had 3 arrive on one day and the fourth the next day. The service and dependability are the reason I will not have my prescriptions sent by mail—who knows when they’ll arrive and the insurance companies won’t give you an emergency refill more than once when they don’t. It seems like every time rates are raised, service goes down another notch.

These guys are constantly routing my packages out of state for absolutely no reason. Really tired of the incompetence through out USPS. Tell me where it makes sense to send an arrived package from Des Moines to Michigan? Same company that whines about money blows it routing packages out of state for the simple reason of they just can. USPS is garbage and the Des Moines centers are just as bad. Don’t expect straight answers on why they do this kind of pointless stuff either, they can’t tell you (more likely they won’t tell you knowing this company)

Received wonderful training here to be a Clerk at the NDC. From Cindy Lamb, and O'Hara! Much love and thank you! In spirit with me always :D. The training here got me into a career that led to making the rest of my life far better than it ever could have been without it all. Thank you! God Bless the USPS and U! S! A!

Des Moines Network Distribution is a Bermuda triangle for packages. If I could do 0 starts- it would be exact evaluation of their service.

I went to the post office today and a really nice lady helped me. I was in tears because I was afraid of missing my deadline for my place. She was such a good person and her conversation helped my day.

I was driving on University at 10:35 pm today and the driver of this unit saw that I was coming and that I was bringing the road, he did not care, he recklessly crossed seeing that I was coming, the truck crossed me, I braked hard and almost crashed it This person has psychological problems, he is insane and has very bad intentions, he almost killed me and I want them to take action to get him fired, he can't be endangering people's lives with that big truck because if I get the video I'm going to take action legal.

Very rude and unprofessional. Tried to apply for a passport and they were 0 help with my issues. Laughed in my face, made me feel extremely not welcomed, embarrassed, and didn’t take me seriously. Walked out because I was about to cry.

First, I want to say that the employees behind the desk at the 2nd avenue post office are wonderful, helpful, and kind. They are a true asset to the postal service, and I am grateful for them. That being said, there are continual issues with packages not being scanned when I deposit them into the drop box in the lobby. Most recently, I deposited a package on Saturday afternoon and there is still no indication it has been scanned or accepted. Nearly all of my packages deposited in the dropbox the past month have not been scanned the day they are received (despite being received by the deadline). Timely scanning matters, and it is unfortunate operations are continually going downhill.

I'm really tired of people applying for jobs and not wanting to do them I had and agent on chat tell me des moines sent my package back to Illinois even though it said waiting in des moines for 4 days.... I'm bout sick of the treatment... and go figured nothing will get done about it.... my opinion the mail business is getting run down to the ground from the inside out.... us citizens really don't have to do much just go in and get OUR stuff and all of you lose your minds.... yall need to be held accountable this is out of hand!!!! Look at your rating..... it's sad
