“This place is amazing! I guess they are under new management for a few months and since then I've noticed the place is so much cleaner and organized. I used to hate having to go there but now it's great :)”

“New Dollar Tree in Grimes! Finally! Located by the post office. Just like any other Dollar Tree. Simple and convenient store. Has all we need for dollar finds. Service is nice. During pandemic all employees are masked. Mask mandate was lifted in May 2021 so patrons are not required to mask. Clean new store. Will visit again!”

“First time and second time going to Five Below in the same week. I went to look for Halloween things for decor and costume. I did not expect to find so many good things for such a great price! I found my Halloween mask for the cheapest price of all the places I looked and was able to bring my son and his friend here for their masks too! Friendly cashiers both times. Will be back for sure”

“Branding message is probably more aimed at me but I truly thought this was a Patagonia or Urban outfitters concept vs. what it is a wanna be pretty version of Dollar Tree starting at $5....it is sort of an e-Ulta with 12 kinds of headsets & electronic gee gaws.I've been to one other last year in a suburb of Chicago. Probably owing to its location in the neighborhood there was a greater selection. I did not get that selection in Des Moines.I did make a small purchase that has been sort of fun but was dismayed to go through the maze to find several octagonal station where it was self checkout.I have some experience and with only one item I expected no issues. However my one item was wrong of about six times. The strongest positive to the store with the lady who greeted everyone on entry and was there immediately to assist. Don't lose her”

“This is not the closest DT for me but I will travel to this location because it’s my favorite DT! They are amazing!! They ALWAYS have all the newest products/seasonal items out & well stocked while other locations are still unpacking the same items or some haven’t even started yet! They always keep their inventory well stocked and offer a lot of items that other stores don’t seem to carry. They have the BEST craft section that is always well stocked and well organized. I will go to locations closer to me when I need something and it never fails, I always end up coming back to this location to get what I need and they usually never disappoint! Staff is usually always nice and helpful, never any issues!”

“We spent about $1,000 at this store. We bought all kinds of knick knacks and some furniture. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful. They have so many cute things as far as home decor -- aisle after aisle! Everything was very clean and organized. Would definitely recommend this location.”

“This place is pretty much the best… always the best prices on GOOD items. Yes you will occasionally have something in the bins at retail price or higher… that just means you’ve gotta come back on a lower price day.I have gotten expensive small appliances, comforters, electronics at like 10-20% of the retail price. Always new.The store is also run by friendly folks. GREAT STORE!”

“they are always helpful & knowledgeable. they work hard at keeping it tidied and stocked with a good selection of products. and most importantly, they are genuinely "happy" to be there and it shows.UPDATE 03/13/21: to the young woman working (I will get your name & add it), who helped me with a cord to charge my phone, you went above & beyond! I am so grateful that because of you, I was able to retrieve important pics and other personal data from my phone before having to send in to insurance for reimbursement. I am touched by the kindness you've shown. The world needs more people like you in it!”

“Well I'm impressed by the customer service that the new guy Don did. Above and beyond he goes just to help others and he's putting smiles on everyone's face , I mean that alone brings me joy. Thank you for your time.”

“The employees are always nice, but sometimes the store is not neat. I know they only have a few employees, and when the truck comes, putting things away is hard to do when they're busy, but there isn't a lot of room to move on truck days. Item availability is less of an issue now, but was a big problem recently”

“Pretty good Dollar tree. There are no frozen items, but otherwise decent selection of what you'd expect from a dollar tree. I like getting decorations here every once and a while.”

“I’ve been to this location many times with my grandma, the area might seem ruff to those who aren’t from around here, but if you need something to eat, or something for your home it’s a great place to go, my grandma always gets sparkling flavor infused water so if there’s any lovers of that beverage reading this , hey you’ve just find your new go to spot.”

“The girl at the counter is the reason for this rating she’s always so polite to everyone who comes in and strikes up conversation with them easily she’s professional and helpful on top of being a positive person. 10/10 other dollar trees are dreary bc of the workers not this one. I bought $50 worth of stuff and she didn’t even hesitate or sigh when it came to bagging it all and she spaced it out! Not just all in one bag like I’ve seen before. Love it love her, give my girl a raise fr fr”

“Pros: * Vast array of products... a little bit of everything for $1.25/ea. * Cheapest cleaning products anywhere, all will get the job done. * Quality of most kitchen utensils is decent. They won't last forever, but will get you through a year. * Plates, bowls, mugs & glasses are a great value with many style options & colors. Inventory changes periodically. * Decent selection of seasonal decorations & items. * Many beauty products are good (hair, skin & nails) & if you just need a quick nail polish, eye shadow, compact or lipstick, you'll find something acceptable that will do in a pinch. * Good quality & quantity of greeting cards. * Convenient location: Behind Wells Fargo, next to Goodwill & Fareway. * Nice staff: Always, always pleasant & helpful. Cons: * I don't eat processed food, whether canned or frozen, but check expiration dates carefully. Pardon my bluntness, but most food is "junk food" with no nutritional value. Most items don't look appetizing to me, but that might be bias as I don't eat junk food anyway. Comment: I just feel the need to write this as our world has changed & can be an inconvenience to everyone. To the review stating that the store closed 8-min early, at 8:52pm one evening & wouldn't allow her in, I understand both sides as a consumer & former store mngr of multiple, varying types of stores. My doors were often locked 15-min prior to closing as that's when robbery is more likely to occur, end of evening with full cash registers. We would assess customers if they tried to enter... sometimes we let them in, other times we did not. With safety in mind, especially today's smash & grab & you're on your own culture (police not offering much help to store employees), I'd never visit a store even 30-min prior to closing & if I were a mngr today, I'd be more concerned with the safety of my staff than offending a 8:52pm customer. In addition, this store is in a strip mall, set way back from the main road (you can't see it from the main road) & all nearby businesses & stores are closed late evenings. It's a little eerie. This customer aside, latecomers normally are strange, under the influence or have ulterior motives for visiting, in my experience as a mngr, especially if the staff is majority female or young. So, yep, if the door were locked for any reason (registers shut down early due to malfunctioning, which isn't uncommon or a previous encounter that evening with a strange shopper, which also isn't uncommon), at best I'd unlock the door to tell the customer we're closing in 8-min, if she knew exactly what she wanted & didn't need help, she could run in & quickly check out. If she seemed strange, I'd smile & wave, telling her we closed early, sorry for the inconvenience but come back tomorrow. Most folks don't shop late evenings, especially at Dollar Tree & stores like it... there are always heightened fears after then... sorry, but that's just fact. And, please remember 9pm shoppers, most employees have been there for 12+ hours, have another 30-min+ left to clean, cash out & get a deposit ready & the "I just need one item" shoppers often don't & now we're all closing late & the customer is inconveniencing multiple employees. A tip: If you need to shop late hours, for example, due to your late work schedule, call the store first & alert them that you're coming... depending on store, I guarantee, they may ask what you want & have it ready for you at the register when you arrive. We did it all the time & were happy to do so. Customers really appreciate it, especially in inclement weather. Some are just not doing their jobs, sure, but our world is different now with lax local laws. Please shop 30-min prior to closing in stores with late-night hours or give them a head's up that you're coming so everyone can be happy. Some will say the store should”

“My whole life I thought Burlington was an overpriced mom store. Boy was I wrong. My bad for living under a rock. Lots of mens clothing for reasonable prices. Kind of like a more organized Marshall's in my experience.”

“Could have been better. Trash all over the floor, boxes blocking parts of the aisles, and only 2 employees working on a busy day. Overall, it's not organized. Found what we wanted, though.”

“They’re recently under new management. The new staff are not only respectful, but go the extra mile to help you find the product you need. The store has really turned a corner.”

“I think I am a Dollar Tree "Junkie ". It seems I shop at Dollar Tree for most of the items I need and if I can't find what I am looking for there, then and only then do I move on to shop somewhere else. Most all the stores I shop at ( 63rd and Grand,SE 14th and Army Post road) I do shop other Dollar Stores, for the most part they have almost identical items stocked, every now and again I will find something different at each store, kinda like Christmas ? ? I don't see any issues with cleanliness and staff are usually friendly and helpful. I am not happy about the 25 cent increase in the cost on each item I buy. Because of this increase I find myself now doing Comparison shopping on price, before the increase I just bought the items and pretty well new I was getting a Bargain. I still like and shop at Dollar Tree, and will continue to shop at Dollar Tree.”
