“Best thrift spot in Des Moines. Huge men’s selection, awesome leather and fur coats, shoes galore, lots of workwear stuff and jerseys. Super quality items. Owner was amazing and super nice and friendly. Music, vinyls, miscellaneous furniture and stuff too.
My favorite Des Moines thrift.”
“I will go to a Dollar Tree for cleaning products, gift bags, and cards for any occasion. Its less expensive, and you're in and out after you get your finds.”
“Have a lot of things that you need for household items along with grocery items. It's one of my go to places for things that I need that have a lot of things in the store for the most part. They are organized and well stocked. The bathrooms are clean and they have friendly cashiers”
“Clean organized place the few times that I’ve been here the staff has been kind to me there’s a good selection of snack and drinks as well as meals for a pretty small store/gas station they do a good job of keeping it open while providing a good clean selection”
“I go in this store almost every day. I have zero complaints. Workers are always very polite. Even on my worst days going to this store always cheers me up. This store is my happy place. People like to complain about the bathrooms etc.. then maybe they should come in and fix the stuff that’s broken because the employees are doing what they can. Especially when the customers are constantly stealing the keys. Try working the job they do before running mouths. I swear all the complaints on here are ridiculous. A bunch of Karen’s in my opinion. I’ve never once seen any of the workers at this DG be rude in any way or form. Just saying. This store is awesome. My children and husband love this store as well. Very welcoming and loving. I’d even go as far to say it’s my home away from home. lol. Love this store. Deserves 100 stars if I could give that.”
“I would have given a 5 but the one Hubbell down from Guthrie has a very rude cashier I was getting a gift card and I handed her my old license instead of new one. So it wouldn't go thru i.ask her.if she would run it thru again with the right license that wasn't expired she wouldn't do it. We argued and she says we'll you.dont have to come back..FINE I WONT YOUR RUDE AS HELL.. And I haven't been back to that one since”
“Every SINGLE time I stopped by here I've encountered nothing but the nicest employees/humans EVER! You are all appreciated more than you realize. Thank you.”
“I’ve been to this location many times with my grandma, the area might seem ruff to those who aren’t from around here, but if you need something to eat, or something for your home it’s a great place to go, my grandma always gets sparkling flavor infused water so if there’s any lovers of that beverage reading this , hey you’ve just find your new go to spot.”
“Who doesn't love dollar tree! I don't know about other locations but this one has been short staffed and had to close early some daysTheir doing the best they can”
“On my way to the airport, stopped in to grab a couple things for my flight. This is not a typical Dollar General! Clean, organized, and the three workers that were there, which is odd for Dollar General, the one guy working said 'oh it's truck day, so you see more of us at once!' made me laugh. The one lady with the tattoos, when I got to the checkout was making everyone laugh whether they were 80 or 8. She asked me 'oh you must be going on a trip somewhere with these items' I was like yeah, how do you know? She laughed and said well...either common sense, or my almost 30 years of retail, do the math kiddo...and she's younger than me! HA!
Everyone seems to want to complain about stuff, but I want people to know that this place is so cool!
Next time I am back in Des Moines, will stop here for any thing I need!”
“Always really cute stuff for home decor here. I forget about this store alot. Why is it always dead silent in DG stores though? For real. This one is cramped....really messy and dirty out front. Bout time they installed self check out with how short staffed they have been becoming. But on the other hand... if they keeping they're employees stocking the store, then it should look nicer. This store is a messsssss.”
“I like the store, but the website bites. I logged in to add a shopping list. Just keeps saying add a store even after choosing 3 different locations and logging in and out twice. Useless...”
“You have a store employee or a manager standing over you. When you when you used to do stuff, check out yes then they're not standing there to watch you and tell you how to do things. They're standing there to make sure you're scanning every single item and not dropping stuff in the bag and as long as we still have them in the store and they still have Christmas and everything else, they're going to do it every year. They're going to scan your items every year. The manager will because people like to drop free stuff in the bag and until that stops. I guess it'll always be that way, but once we get rid of the self-checkouts completely they won't even be there no more then we're going back to the old school where you have to wait in line. If you don't like waiting and you ain't got enough patience leave go to another store”
