“Was welcomed with open arms after our previous center permanently closed! We can’t say enough great things about Step Ahead. The directors, staff, cleanliness, communication, food for the kids etc is 10/10! Facility is new as of fall 2025. The parent app makes communication and updates timely. My kids adapted quickly to the change and love their teachers.”

My daily commute from Cumming, IA to Waukee is a deliberate choice, driven by my confidence that my child is loved and learning under the Goddard School's curriculum. “Happy Hearts Montessori Daycare & Preschool was a wonderful daycare/preschool for our children. We were in a bind for care initially and they were able to accommodate quickly. We never had to second guess if our kids were happy attending. The care they received was phenomenal and every staff member felt like family. There was a change of ownership shortly after we started attending and it seemed to be a very smooth transition. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place with quality care and great communication for their children!”

Paula, Kristy, and the entire team are always warm and welcoming when we arrive, which creates such a positive environment. My child consistently appears happy and confident during both drop-off and pick-up, which speaks volumes about the care and support they provide. I also truly appreciate the additional events organized throughout the year, knowing the extra time and effort that goes into planning them. The Mother’s Day breakfast was especially enjoyable, and the theme was thoughtful and adorable.”

“Our child attended CCMS for 3 years. The quality of the school staff members is excellent. They effectively manage school programming, parent concerns, safety issues, and a never-ending list of important administrative tasks. The teachers execute exciting and educational programming while establishing tender and loving relationships with the kids. Whenever we had a concern with our child, their teacher was a valuable resource in providing advice and feedback. CCMS provided a wonderful learning environment for my child that, in my opinion, is wholly attributable to the high quality of the staff and their programming.”

As for the nurse who was unable to satisfy the previous reviewers needs, she is a very kind lady who has to be the only nurse at a school of hundreds of students and staff due to budget. “The workers are all good with kids. They genuinely care about all the kids. They did well helping my toddler adjust to a daycare setting, and they communicate well with me.
Another parent accidentally hit my car in the parking lot one dark, extremely cold evening. My tot was in the back seat and I didn't have my phone. Definitely go inside and call the police or write down the person's address if this happens, because this person then lied to their shady insurance company, which was happy to deny a claim even if the evidence is obvious. Likely due to corporate policies, Kindercare management wouldn't deliver small claims court papers--by papers they meant exchanging contact info. I don't think they had any idea the type of person that had hit me. I am thankful that this daycare is way better than the experiences other people have had in other daycares. The management have beautiful smiles and love the children. The kids are safe and the vast majority of the other parents are lovely. Unfortunately, one bad apple parent is too safe from small claims court. The experience in the parking lot and after had more to do with me adjusting to city life and learning how to be a little more street-smart. My dad warned me about parking lots!”
