“I'm originally from this beautiful area of the country. We stayed with our adult children & other family. It was a perfect set up. We had our own space plus a great setting to gather as a bigger group in the Big Slough unit. Love that each unit had a full kitchen & living space. Beautifully decorated with good use of space. I've stayed in a variety of rentals in the area and across the country and I'm thoroughly impressed with Backwater Suites with the view of the Mississippi. Top notch! Looking forward to future visits.

I like that they have different room options at different rates.

All units were booked, but each unit must be well insulated because we never heard a sound from the other guests. Perfect location in town where there's lots to see and do.”

“Mississippi Rivers ride out the back door on the porch it is an old Grainmill it has been restored into a 5 or 6 room motel with a coffee shop downstairs in the morning all sorts of little goody goodies for people that love to Starbucks abilities from 1858 has been restored motel / coffee shop they still have retained all the old grain mills Hoppers and pulleys and such very interesting

Walkability: Little Old Town in Irving Iowa less than 800 people in several restaurants and taverns to fill your belly and what your whistle”

“Motel room was clean and perfectly sized to fit my needs as someplace to sleep and shower during the week for work.
The owner is great to work with and very attentive.
Room didn’t have any odors and the bedding was comfortable and the bed and pillows are great. Room had direct tv and Roku so even though you’re in small town Iowa, you don’t need to be isolated like it.”
