Mediacome has Ben bad since summer 2024. Have called them 13 times that their service slows way down after 11pm. They keep saying there updating there system but there not. It’s Ben several months and no fix with this issue to all this slag. Thank god we’re getting another two company’s in Marshalltown

Bought internet over the phone 2 years ago and was told I was getting the cheapest option for 1-4 devices as I'm the only one living in my house and now my bill is almost 100$ all of a sudden and I'm rarely home and use it and its just internet. Not cable and Internet. I'm about to change companies because the prices are not what I was told I was getting when I first signed up and you cannot view your statements on the app to even see what internet you have bought

One good thing I can say about Mediacom is they do have a good response time when I call and have questions. There is a lack of consistent service and their prices do not match the services that are offered. Their promotions always seem like a great deal when you initially sign up, but when your costs increase when the promotion ends, it feels like you are being punished for staying with Mediacom. If anyone has suggestions for other internet providers in Marshalltown, please private message me.

They over charge. Then the services goes in and out all the time. They don’t go by what they say when paying the bill. The story changes when it comes to the bill. You don’t get the full service that you pay for. The up load sucks. I would not recommend Mediacom to anyone. We need to get a different services where I live. I believe that mediacom needs to shut their doors.

We're so disappointed with Mediacom's "high-speed" Internet. We used to have the cable service but that was too expensive for the channels we received. The Internet price has gone up again and the reception down. I can't seem to get through a show or movie because of the contrast freezing and buffering. We're looking for something else.

My problem is similar to the many opinions that I have read, unfortunately I am not going to smudge my record explaining the same thing. If any representative wants to see what is happening, look for my recording, it's all there.It is a shame that there are so many similar comments and this issue is not treated with the seriousness that it takes because the customer is the most important thing in any business and even more so for a large company like this, thank you very much

This place has about the most spotty service that I have ever experienced, but they have basically monopolized Marshalltown so they are about the only provider … service SUCKS!!!!

You will get all sorts of different information depending on what representative you talk to and they will all contradict themselves. Be prepared to be forwarded to multiple representatives if you call them only to be directed to their website.

What they do is they deceive you that your plan is unlimited for $99.99 but it turns out that they charge you for the router almost $15/month apart from the fact that if you go over they don't know how many megabytes they charge you for another $$$. And Ai the one who doesn't pay on the corresponding day, why are they also extra charges? So my recommendation, so that they don't see the face that they saw with me. Just have your router and don't take the unlimited disk plan.

This review is being posted on 11/7/23. I moved into a new apartment complex from Cedar Falls, IA to Grinnell, IA on 11/1/23 where the property relies on Mediacom as the provider. Had internet service installed on 11/2/23; Received a modem & wifi adapter mailed through Fedex on 11/1/23. I had Mediacom before a few years prior in Mason City, IA between 2018-2021... the wifi was built into the modem I received so don't see why they now use a separate device for the 2. I knew from the past experience that Mediacom was a lousy, unreliable ripoff service... they seem to intentionally monopolize on the communities that are small/rural compared to more urban areas that have the infrastructure to go with it. Not even 1 week into having Mediacom again and already sick of the constant disconnects & lagging speeds (experienced across multiple devices)... rarely had these problems with Cedar Falls government own provided service: "CFU"... and my bill was 25% less for same speed package. You read reviews for any Mediacom branch and majority are 1-2 star reviews that coincide with similar problems... so obviously its a company problem that's existed for decades (folks had problems with Mediacom's reliability in the 1980's). Looking at the cookie cutter PR responses they give most reviews just tells you how they don't care while they extort you as a customer.
