“I have been to McGregor, Iowa numerous times but had never browsed through this bookstore. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. He had a good selection of history books and early- and mid-twentieth century American fiction. I'm not familiar with prices of books in such stores, but I think the owner strives to offer a fair price. The books are in pretty good condition; the store does not smell musty, as do a lot of used bookstores. I'll definitely return and browse some more.”

“A delightful surprise tucked into a curve of the upper Mississippi. I felt as though the books in Paper Moon were curated just for me. Pearl the cat helped me pick out a sci-fi novel and the owners charmed me with stories about the many cats that have made the store their home. If you're traveling along the Great River Road, it's a great place to stop.”
