I've used four other veterinary practices over the last 30 years, and this, by far, is the best. It's also clean, professionally run, and compassionate. It's worth the 30 minute drive to come here.
I also appreciate that this is an independently owned practice and not part of a larger, corporate affair, too. Very happy to have found Eastview Animal Hospital.

11596 Bladensburg Rd, OttumwaOver the past 6+ years Eastview Animal Clinic and all of the vets and vet techs there, have taken care of 4 different cats for me, with problems ranging from chronic rhinitis, teeth extractions, and general wellness visits, as well as - sadly - putting to sleep a feral Alex & I had taken in last winter when it was so cold, who was in a bad way. I can’t say enough good things about this practice. The building, offices and grounds are neat, clean and smell good; the vet techs are friendly, empathetic and competent; the vets are all great - very kind, compassionate, and - importantly - truthful and direct. I’ve had animals of all sorts over my long life and consequently have a LOT of experience with vets. This past few years has been the best veterinary experience in my life. Thank you, Eastview!

Thomas Veterinary Clinic
17591 US-34, OttumwaOn Tuesday Sept. 2, 2025 , had to have our 35 yr.old horse euthanized . The day after a holiday and they were very busy. Dr. Kiley Thomas came out to do this. Even though it was a very busy day , the was very patient and did not try to rush us at all. We said our goodbyes to our beloved Stormy and we will never forget her kindness. Thank you Dr. Kiley Thomas.

2818 N Ct St, OttumwaAs people who plan vacations and road trips around trying new restaurants, this was in my top 5 of bbq. Their bbq sauces choices are amazing, my favorite was the Apple Habanero sauce, not too sweet or spicy, just smooth flavors. If we are back in the area we will definitely stop in again.
