“Dr Houlding is the best vet I've had. She actually cares about her clients and personally answers her after our calls and we'll listen and give you advice I try to save you money whenever she can. I had a feral rescue cat that had complications with delivery took her to ISU after $400 at the emergency department still no better Saturday morning I called here and they got this cat in that morning gave her an emergency c-section and Leann personally kept her at her house all weekend long to monitor her and didn't charge me extra for it. I have a lot of questions and concerns about my cats and these guys always take my calls and are always patient and kind.”

Dr. Katie does not push off medications and things that aren't needed. We trust Dr. Katie, the whole staff with doing the best they can for Lucy!”
“Dr. Becky is always so friendly and helpful. Her expertise is obvious and she takes care of my bernese mountain dog with care. She knows what she's doing and my dog is excited to go to the vet. “Highly recommend. My girl had some weird lumps on her nipple. They did tests and surgery right away. It was cancer. She had a fever and developed a UTI during recovery. It was easy to get her in and seen and treated for these issues. We just had a follow up and her urine test is back to normal and no cancer cells have not reappeared. They saved my girls life and for a fraction of the cost of the mega ran vet companies. They also have an office in Perry. We utilize both offices. The Granger office has XRay machines. The Perry office performed our girls surgery.”
“Knowledgeable and compassionate care. I came to Ames Pet Hospital about a year ago after several bad experiences at another Ames vet clinic. I hesitated to make the change because of one of my pet's complicated medical history, but the last incident pushed me over the edge. I couldn't be happier with the switch. My pets are receiving wonderful care from Dr. Erin Peeler. She noticed that the previous vet had my epileptic dog on a flea and tick medicine that is known to cause seizures and immediately recommended another medication. More recently, Dr. Peeler helped us through our cat's sudden illness. She described the medical issues in language we could understand and gave us options for care. Ultimately, our cat's health condition was terminal so we put her down. The process was compassionate and peaceful. Dr. Peeler and the staff at Ames Pet Hospital are all good at their jobs and wonderful people, too.”

“YES AMAZING! I brought my young gelding here after we treated for a cut on the heel bulbs at my local vet and things were progressing the wrong way. I would highly highly recommend Dr. Tanaka & Dr.Willette & the ferrier team!! My options were limited & we weren’t sure he’d make it. “The Oncology department was outstanding. My dog has needed so much care this year. I have spent an unbelievable amount of time at pet ERs and hospitals this year and I can say the experience at ISU was one of the best. On time and great at answering my questions. While cost was expensive, it was way less than I expected for radiation therapy. When I had questions it was very easy to get a hold of them over the phone. I was only there for Oncology so I can’t speak to other services, but I highly recommend their Oncology team.”
