“Very helpful staff. I've seen other reviews claiming their staff ignores customers, or something along those lines and I simply havent ever had that experience. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They also seem genuinely interested in how your hobby is going, and will give input to help you onto your next stage. The only times I havent been helped immediately was if they were already with another customer. If they were at the point of discussing the point the customer is at in their hobby, they have always been more than willing to see what they can do to help me if I just wait patiently nearby. The level of personal attention I get at Hobby Haven, I simply cannot get anywhere else. The owner himself is usually in the store, and has been an amazing help many times. Lastnight in fact, while he was helping prep people for the races they had that night, he took the time to help me get the parts together for a custom wheel setup for my RC plane. During the races he answered a ton of questions I had about getting started racing RC cars, and never once acted like I was a burden even though he was very busy. I could buy that setup online possibly for cheaper, but I will be returning today to purchase the exact setup he recommended to get me going. The assistance you get there, you wont find online. We need to keep stores like this going and support them. Thank you to the hobby haven staff, genuinely, for your help over the years with my hobbies. Ill be in soon to pick up the Fury we talked about lastnight.”
“Stopped in on our way to a Dead South concert. It was rpg day. Got a couple free game stories. Got to play a game of Daggerheart. The GM and the one other player where really cool and fun to roll play with. Even though it's not a local shop for us when we come back this way it will certainly be a stop for us.
Big selection of rpg books, really nice selection of PF2E books. Tons of dice to choose from. Several isles of Warhammer. And multiple isles of board games.”
“This was my first time visiting and I was blown away! Amazing selection of items, really well organized, easy to navigate their store, and very friendly/knowledgeable staff. Absolutely will be stopping by again!”
“I always leave this place excited with what I got. While other stores (store) in the area just say no to everything and have huge mark ups and premiums, Capital City is realistic and reasonable. They will let you trade, sell or buy and they don’t act like you’re bothering them when you want to sell or trade. They’re happy to do any business you want. I’ve never sold there but I’ve observed many people selling scrap silver, gold and coins, the prices they have paid have been more than fair. If you have something specific you are looking for, make sure you ask. A lot of their inventory is not on display such as gold coins. Today I went in with a short list of things I might be interested in and they had most everything, showed me and let me make my decisions. They also have a decent selection of supplies such as silver and gold testing acids, scales, coin capsules, flips and slabs. It can get busy so bring some patience but it will be worth it.”
“Love this shop. Everyone is always helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection of comics and cards. I play Magic the Gathering and they always seem to have the cards I want at great prices.”
“Fantastic experience with Heartland. I placed my order late Tuesday evening and, despite living several states away, it was at my door the very next day. The flag is exactly as advertised and the quality speaks for itself. Highly recommend Heartland!”
“I can't speak for any in-store experience, as I've never been there...but, as for my online experience, I've ordered from them several times, and I can honestly say, you'll be hard-pressed to find any other Mini-Z/1-28 scale RC business that provides better customer service.
If you need information, Wolfram RC is who you should turn to. If you need a Mini-Z, or 1/28 kit, Wolfram RC is who you should turn to. If you need upgrade parts, or electronics, Wolfram RC is who you should turn to. Questions are answered quickly (sometimes providing even more useful information than you were expecting), orders are shipped quickly. You can't ask for anything better. ??”
“I haven't been to Hobby Lobby in years. I love this place. It was kind of busy but such a big place, it did not put a damper on my shopping. They have so much inventory and carry items that I never thought of. Finding what I needed was easy. Everything has discounted prices. I saved 37% from my shopping list. The service was great. Staff everywhere consistently helping the customers. Enough cashiers that I was in line for 4 minutes. All around great experience.”
“First time there it was a great experience. They have tons vintage video games, legos, comics, action figures, funkos, records, some magic the gathering. It was a lot of fun to walk through and just check everything out. Found a couple things to buy as well. Staff was pretty great and very helpful.”
“I'd give it 127 stars if I could! Hands down the best employee's outta all 3 locations. On point, personable and knowledgeable! Grant is top notch and om his game for all TCG needs!!”
“Thrift store that sells personalized individual booths that can range in different pricing depending on the individual booth. Wide variety of items that include furniture. Used movies and video games, home decor, collectibles, glass and clothing”
“I've been here a couple times and everytime the staff has been helpful, pointing to where I need to go or in Michele's case helping me figure out the coupon system. She was super kind and I wanted to leave her a shout put for being awesome and having great customer service!”
“Arkham is a must visit for mtg fans in the area! In addition to have a lot of selection for booster packs and precons, they have great prices on their well organized bulk. This store is a great community hub for gaming and had plenty of people playing at their many tables when I visited. The staff were friendly as well. The only recommendation I have is for better ventilation of the play area if you catch my drift.”
“Man! Hobby Lobby breaks the bank everytime ! The after holiday sales are killing me! Easter was 75% off St.Patricks day 90% off. I also fill trinket jars to sell and HL has a great selection”
“I come from New Orleans twice a year to this amazing store.
That's how amazing it is.
That's a long drive.
This is the greatest game store in the universe.
Seriously.”
“First and foremost, it is not Hobby Lobby! 😁
I love Michaels and all the stuff they have! If you want to craft, paint, or do other cool stuff, this is your place!
I cannot recommend Michaels enough!”
“Every Saturday morning at 9 amin Drake Park a very motivated Reverend named Dave sets up where anyone can have doughnuts and coffee while he moves us with his very moving spiritual music. After 3 songs he then presents a short biblical message and offers prayer to anyone. Lots of homeless troubled souls have been brought to God by Dave. After his moving message we are served a catered hot breakfast and he sends the leftovers to whoever wants to take them. Amazing...I encourage you to join us at Drake park for breakfast both physical and spiritual. All welcome”
“Love they expanded the yarn area. When they have a sale, it's really a bargain. Cashier was so friendly and was also very helpful using the app. The West Des Moines store is so much more organized than the Ankeny store, in my opinion.”
“Not the most remarkable retro selection as it’s not a designated retro store, but what they do have is a manager named Elizabeth who is remarkable at customer service and makes the GameStop shopping experience far more pleasant than it is at the average store. I will always place Kishion in Iowa City at the top of my list of GameStop goats but Elizabeth has made the Mount Rushmore, going out of her way to help me get what I needed even when it was busy.”
“Competitive products and pricing with a local feel.
I was referred to the rookie from a couple serious card collector colleagues of mine and we all share how great of experience it is. Anders is knowledgeable and fair to do business with. I will continue to buy all of my hobby boxes and other merch from these guys.”

“These guys always know their stuff. I can always count on their commendable skills and notable background knowledge, in times whenever I might need help with particular types of identification! They are knowledgeable about metals, gems, money, and other rare/valuable/ fine collectibles of these sorts. This is definitely one of my most favorite places to go to!”
