Kevin makes this Kwikstar 5 stars!! Douglas store tends to have cheaper gas but for food we go to this store.

Kwik Star used to be a guarantee for fair gas station prices, but that' changed dramatically. For soda, they are the only GS whom doesn't do two-for deals with Pepsi products. And they had the raw nerve to change their king-sized candy bars from $3.29 to $3.99 - and in one day! The old $3.29 price on one item was left out as proof.. Really?!? A 70 cent mark-up for a candy bar in one day?!.. Also, to top everything off, the lady working there late night is condescending.... Come on KS! Get back to the fair-priced GS you always were.. Dang!

Great stop. We travel with our camper so have seen many places for gas, overnight, restrooms, etc. Clean spacious bathrooms. There are plenty of food options. Basically a small grocery store and ready to go meals as well. Friendly staff.

All Kwik Stars are solid, but this one takes the cake. We stop at it every time we drive through Des Moines as a pit stop. Food is always delicious and reasonable, staff is always friendly.
Make sure to get some cinnamon rolls on your way out!

Stopped by Kwik Star in Urbandale to grab some things to re-energize the team, and I was blown away by the excellent customer service! The staff was super helpful, and the cashier was incredibly friendly—it’s always great to be greeted with a smile. The store was clean, well-stocked, and had everything I needed. Definitely one of the best stops for quick, quality service. Highly recommend!

7/14 at 9:45 am. I called this Kwik Star and a lady picked up asking how she could help me. I kindly told her my request, she asked me to repeat it, and I did. I asked what the price was on a specific item and when I asked she LOUDLY sighed into the phone, told me the price of the item, and then completely hung up on me without saying another word. I had another question and was also being super kind and used my manners, unlike her. This experience makes me not trust or feel comfortable to call or go here.
