“Great collection of antique items that are in exceptional condition and fairly priced. Friendly store staff that give great recommendations. It's surprisingly larger than I expected inside the store.”
“I stopped in for the first time not too long ago and I will absolutely be back. They had a great selection and I really like that they have rotating vendors, it helps keep things fresh. We talked to the owner while checking out and they were wonderful. I highly recommend checking this place out”
“Cute vintage items and lots of unique new stuff like scented soaps.postcard, flowers, rugs, dishes.
Fun place to shop. I love their soap and body butters.”
“Petals & Moss is so lucky to be under the ownership and creative direction of Shawntel Noel, self-taught plant enthusiast! The shop has a fresh new vision and I am excited to see how P&M grows under her leadership. I also have a feeling I will be acquiring more plants, pots, etc.!!!”
“My favorite antiqueing spot in all of Des Moines! Always find something. The store is clean and well organized. The owner's are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable!”
“Great selection of up-to-date, high quality second-hand clothing. Items are neatly arranged on well-defined and labeled racks. Even though the store was busy today, the wait time for a fitting room wasn’t too long. I’ll definitely be back!”
“Favorite vintage store in DSM and they are so nice there. They usually buy my vintage stuff for great prices and also have a sweet selection of items! I'm from DSM and live in NYC and it's really a better store than most I've seen in NYC!!”
“Every time I come I find new items out which is fun and helpful. The prices are so affordable for lots of good brands. I always hit up Duckworths before heading to other stores when I need some baby clothes.”
“Very cool place to shop if you appreciate sustainability and very friendly people. Vintage Levi’s paired with an amazing sweater, yes please. Awesome vibe and great selection.”
“I spent a half hour here, and thought it was a nice store with a fun owner and a comfortable environment. The owner let me browse a bit, but then checked in on me and mentioned some new stuff he just got in. Overall he wasn't pushy or anything. I ended up finding a couple/few things, but may have found more if I hadn't showed up 30 minutes before the store closed. Ah well, guess I'll have to stop by again next time I'm in town. Overall I enjoyed browsing through the stacks of records. On leaving I noticed they have a ton of CDs and clothing, and they even mentioned cassettes which I didn't know where making a comeback, but hey why not. The place is in an actual mall too, like back when I was a kid... thought those were all gone, it was nice.”
“Interesting store in an old factory or depot. Lots of neat stuff, prices were not unreasonable, staff was friendly. The floors are very uneven, probably due to the age of the building and it's original function, so anyone with mobility issues will have to be extra careful, but overall we liked it and will go back.”
“They have a TON of items that would be PERFECT for my daughters Homecoming outfit, but she is "top heavy" and most items from the Disco era just aren't made to accommodate large chested people. We didn't get the outfit, but walked out with some GREAT accessories! Plus Janelle (sorry about spelling) was SUPER helpful and friendly!!!! We will totally be back to finger through the racks of vinyl and anytime we need a period piece - because their stock is always changing!”
“Beautifully curated store bringing new life to vintage treasures. Owner and associates all possess a true love for their finds and how to appreciate them in new ways within your home. Great corner location in a thriving East Village district. Must stop during your time in Des Moines!”
“ARC was a humbling experience. Did it Florida in 2004. It changed the trajectory of my life. I'm a much better person today. I thank God For the Salvation Army.”
“I've had pretty good hauls from here. Selection is pretty large, and the store is well organized; not too cluttered but doesn't feel empty either. Also fantastic drop off system. One of the easiest places to donate in the Des Moines metro.”
“It doesn't matter when I go, I always find something worth the trip. I've loved this store since the first time I walked in .. I hope to pick up more lucky finds the next time. .. ???
To the Staff: Thanks for being way awesome enough to work there. People come & people go, remember that you make the difference. Even if some people can't or won't see all that you do, smile & let it go.

“Big selection. I thought the housewares section was overpriced. I like the markdown policy. Things get cheaper the longer they sit on the shelf. Looks like a great place for seasonal decorations. Nice selection of luggage. Again pricier than the thrift stores but better quality and a lot to choose from. Movies looked reasonably priced. Senior discount days. I also think there's a veteran's discount. Nice clean bathrooms. Nice dressing rooms.”
“Shopping at this store was a delightful experience because of Fiolla, she was very attentive to my needs and any questions I had. She was an excellent help to my mother who struggles with shopping due to her little knowledge of English. She made my shopping experience here memorable! Fiolla did an excellent job.”
“Lilie is so helpful. She helps me find fun things all the time. If you're looking for top-tier customer service, ask for Lilie - you wont be disappointed! Highly recommend!”
“An amazing thrift store where I always find something I want! Everything here is always so interesting and fun to look at. I did take one star off because I do feel like some items are priced too high but overall this store is amazing. Honestly, it's my favorite in des moines!”
