“Cutest little neighborhood book shop. Great spot to get a good recommendation and they have started some fun neighborhood book clubs in the shop for different genres.”

“Lots of interesting and inspiring items and great people who work there. I wish I had time to read all the inspiring books.., had space for all the beautiful pictures to put on my walls., and $$ to buy all the unique and beautiful items they sell. I love this place!”

“A bar with books for sale and board games. What a neat concept! Got there around 8.45pm on a Saturday night after a LONG day and the place was busy already. The volume level inside was quiet enough to carry on a conversation, but with it being so full, browsing books wasn't really an option. Every seat was taken, but thankfully there's a patio that was open and with the weather cooperating, we were able to sit there and enjoy our drinks. At $14 a piece, it's definitely not cheap, but it was good. Im normally not a martini person, but this one was delicious. My Lemondrop tasted a bit weird at first sip, but maybe it just needed to settle a bit because sip #2 was great. Service was prompt and the bar tender was nice and attentive. Definitely worth checking out!”

“I was looking for books by a special author for a gift for my grandson. After checking both new and used bookstores I called and asked if Prospero's had any of the authors books and they did! I drove down that evening and they had 3 different novels set aside for me. On top was one I had hoped to find for at least three years. Needless to say I was very happy. I browsed around and selected several additional books. This is normal for a trip to Prospero's. The owners and clerks are friendly and knowledgeable about literature. It's a trek there from our home in the suburbs but always worth the trip.”

“Flagship Books fits well with the Strawberry Hill arts community vibe. The small store is a comfortable space with a good range of books by local authors as well as a selection of other new and used books. The owners are also happy to order books they don't have in stock, making this an excellent alternative to Amazon. Though this review is based on my first visit, I plan to keep an eye out for Flagship-hosted readings and other events.”

“Even though I love the Catholics, I am not Catholic. And even though I was raised Catholic and attended parochial school, I am now just your basic nondenominational evangelical Christian. Denominational preferences notwithstanding, I visited the I. Donnelly Company for some religious iconography. I thought those days were behind me, but life is funny sometimes. My daughter, who is an Avila University alum and also not Catholic, greatly admires St. Teresa of Avila and asked for a desktop statue of her. We have come full circle. I called first to ask if they had an appropriately sized St. Teresa statue before I drove out to 66th and Troost. The young woman I spoke to on the phone was incredibly helpful; she made it her mission to make sure I acquired tiny St. Teresa. Amazingly, they had 2 in different styles. I stopped in that afternoon and the statues were waiting for me behind the counter. I appreciated the eager service. I have to say, that store is packed to the gills with all things Catholic. I imagine the truly devout could browse for hours. I didn't have time to look at everything but you could put together awesome gift packs for communions, baptisms, confirmations, nuns... any Catholic function or person, really. But my favorite items were the sainted socks. That's right. Socks with saints on them. And they had tons. You are bound to find your patron saint on those racks. Anyway, peace be with you.”

“Small, intimate bookstore with a cool environment and a conscientious owner. ?When we walked in they turned on some music for us while we browsed and were ready to answer any questions we had about the books.I was impressed by being surrounded by all the history. There was a roomful of books old and new and an entire room devoted to old records and jazz memorabilia. Will definitely be coming back for more purchases. I picked out three books but had to choose one.”

“This place was just Crazy huge book store. I have no way to describe how much I enjoyed this store. Having visited another location smaller than this. I spent over 100$ on one location on purchasing books. Looking forward to my next visit. Who know how much I walk away with next time.”

“C.J. was extremely helpful and located some specific comics for a gift idea I had. He made some helpful recommendations and listened to what I had to say. It's easy to get overwhelmed heading into a comic shop, but he made the process enjoyable and fun. I will be back!”

“Took some old records in to see if I could get some money for them. The guy was honest with me and told me he couldn't sell them at this time. I appreciate honesty. Also looked like they have a great selection.”

“Got to love this store. It is smaller then others but the staff is accommodating and great! Only issue one might have is crossing from the parking to the store. Alot of the Target folks like to speed through to the light. So watch out and look both ways.”

“Love the selection of books, notebooks, and records. I'd rather buy things here than from the "prime" online retailer even if something costs an extra buck or two.”

“Imagination brought to life! Can't say enough good things about the displays and amazing creative vibe! We had a great time. Such detailed artwork, super kind helpers. We spent two hours but could have easily spent more time there. And there is more to come. Fun for all ages, our group consisted of children: 3, 5, 8, 10, 14, and 17. There was never a dull moment! I felt that $16 admission was reasonable, but would deter me from going often. The membership price seemed a little high, too. A membership for 4 is $200, and the next level is $500 for up to 8 people. So it isn't practical for our family of 5. As lovely as it is, the affordability factor will play a role in our patronage.”

“Natural herbs have cured so many illness that drugs and injection cant cure. I've seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. i read people's testimonies online on how they were cured of herpes, HIV, diabetics etc by Dr Oje Abacha herbal medicine, so i decided to contact the doctor because i know nature has the power to heal anything. I was diagnosed with HIV for the past 7 years but Dr Oje Abacha cured me with his herbs and i referred my aunt and her husband to him immediately because they were both suffering from herpes but to God be the glory, they were cured too .I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony. There is no harm trying herbs. He is also a spell caster, he cast spell to restore broken marriages and he cast good luck spells to prosper and excel in life. “As student, just returning to college after over 30 years, I appreciate the ease of finding and utilizing the UMKC Bookstore. Got me some shirts, hats and hoodies to represent, found the books I needed and got for the low low. I stop in whenever I'm in the Student Union just to see if they got some new stuff.”

“I had the great honor of attending Midwest Trust Center Concert Series featuring the world renowned Master Trumpeter Chris Botti himself. Omgudness what a phenomenal Wednesday night! The venue is perfect for concerts, plays etc. and every seat is a good seat. I first saw Mr. Botti in concert years ago and I thought I would literally lose it. He tore that trumpet up. I have never heard a trumpet sound THAT good, ever! HE is the very reason I fell in love with it. My instrument of love was always the saxophone, but honey all that changed after hearing this cat. He also happens to have the coldest band ever and is such a brilliant yet caring person. He provides opportunities for other phenomenal musicians to play with him from all over the world...not everyone does that...talk about unselfish, it's very admirable. If you happen to love jazz and haven't seen this gentleman in concert check out Mr. Botti's website where you will find his bio and tour information. Certainly a Class Act!”

“First off, two totally different sides of the same coin. 1. The good. The doctors and nurses are AMAZING! Special recognition to RN Ryan on the 5th floor (I think) overnight Bell tower was one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life, full stop. On a day when I literally could not walk, you made me feel safe and happy. Also huge thanks to Dr. Rahim. The depths of his care, concern and interest in his patient's well being have no bounds. All of the doctors and nurses that I experienced were amazing. You all are worthy of 5 stars and beyond. 2. The bad. Office staff / administration.”
