“Flagship Books fits well with the Strawberry Hill arts community vibe. The small store is a comfortable space with a good range of books by local authors as well as a selection of other new and used books. The owners are also happy to order books they don't have in stock, making this an excellent alternative to Amazon. Though this review is based on my first visit, I plan to keep an eye out for Flagship-hosted readings and other events.”

“I was looking for books by a special author for a gift for my grandson. After checking both new and used bookstores I called and asked if Prospero's had any of the authors books and they did! I drove down that evening and they had 3 different novels set aside for me. On top was one I had hoped to find for at least three years. Needless to say I was very happy. I browsed around and selected several additional books. This is normal for a trip to Prospero's. The owners and clerks are friendly and knowledgeable about literature. It's a trek there from our home in the suburbs but always worth the trip.”

“Even though I love the Catholics, I am not Catholic. And even though I was raised Catholic and attended parochial school, I am now just your basic nondenominational evangelical Christian. Denominational preferences notwithstanding, I visited the I. Donnelly Company for some religious iconography. I thought those days were behind me, but life is funny sometimes. My daughter, who is an Avila University alum and also not Catholic, greatly admires St. Teresa of Avila and asked for a desktop statue of her. We have come full circle. I called first to ask if they had an appropriately sized St. Teresa statue before I drove out to 66th and Troost. The young woman I spoke to on the phone was incredibly helpful; she made it her mission to make sure I acquired tiny St. Teresa. Amazingly, they had 2 in different styles. I stopped in that afternoon and the statues were waiting for me behind the counter. I appreciated the eager service. I have to say, that store is packed to the gills with all things Catholic. I imagine the truly devout could browse for hours. I didn't have time to look at everything but you could put together awesome gift packs for communions, baptisms, confirmations, nuns... any Catholic function or person, really. But my favorite items were the sainted socks. That's right. Socks with saints on them. And they had tons. You are bound to find your patron saint on those racks. Anyway, peace be with you.”

“Small, intimate bookstore with a cool environment and a conscientious owner. ?When we walked in they turned on some music for us while we browsed and were ready to answer any questions we had about the books.I was impressed by being surrounded by all the history. There was a roomful of books old and new and an entire room devoted to old records and jazz memorabilia. Will definitely be coming back for more purchases. I picked out three books but had to choose one.”

“This place was just Crazy huge book store. I have no way to describe how much I enjoyed this store. Having visited another location smaller than this. I spent over 100$ on one location on purchasing books. Looking forward to my next visit. Who know how much I walk away with next time.”

“C.J. was extremely helpful and located some specific comics for a gift idea I had. He made some helpful recommendations and listened to what I had to say. It's easy to get overwhelmed heading into a comic shop, but he made the process enjoyable and fun. I will be back!”

“Took some old records in to see if I could get some money for them. The guy was honest with me and told me he couldn't sell them at this time. I appreciate honesty. Also looked like they have a great selection.”

“Got to love this store. It is smaller then others but the staff is accommodating and great! Only issue one might have is crossing from the parking to the store. Alot of the Target folks like to speed through to the light. So watch out and look both ways.”

“Love the selection of books, notebooks, and records. I'd rather buy things here than from the "prime" online retailer even if something costs an extra buck or two.”

“Natural herbs have cured so many illness that drugs and injection cant cure. I've seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. i read people's testimonies online on how they were cured of herpes, HIV, diabetics etc by Dr Oje Abacha herbal medicine, so i decided to contact the doctor because i know nature has the power to heal anything. I was diagnosed with HIV for the past 7 years but Dr Oje Abacha cured me with his herbs and i referred my aunt and her husband to him immediately because they were both suffering from herpes but to God be the glory, they were cured too .I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony. There is no harm trying herbs. He is also a spell caster, he cast spell to restore broken marriages and he cast good luck spells to prosper and excel in life. “I had the great honor of attending Midwest Trust Center Concert Series featuring the world renowned Master Trumpeter Chris Botti himself. Omgudness what a phenomenal Wednesday night! The venue is perfect for concerts, plays etc. and every seat is a good seat. I first saw Mr. Botti in concert years ago and I thought I would literally lose it. He tore that trumpet up. I have never heard a trumpet sound THAT good, ever! HE is the very reason I fell in love with it. My instrument of love was always the saxophone, but honey all that changed after hearing this cat. He also happens to have the coldest band ever and is such a brilliant yet caring person. He provides opportunities for other phenomenal musicians to play with him from all over the world...not everyone does that...talk about unselfish, it's very admirable. If you happen to love jazz and haven't seen this gentleman in concert check out Mr. Botti's website where you will find his bio and tour information. Certainly a Class Act!”

“If you go to McDonalds, you probably will purchase a McMeel. I feel sorry for you. This is a really excellent book store in Kansas City that I haven't been to in a while, but I heard that they might be closing down and I hope it's not the case. They were always expensive and unique and located right in the heart of the City, all the while giving downtown Kansas City something great that it otherwise probably wouldn't have had.”

“As student, just returning to college after over 30 years, I appreciate the ease of finding and utilizing the UMKC Bookstore. Got me some shirts, hats and hoodies to represent, found the books I needed and got for the low low. I stop in whenever I'm in the Student Union just to see if they got some new stuff.”

“First off, two totally different sides of the same coin. 1. The good. The doctors and nurses are AMAZING! Special recognition to RN Ryan on the 5th floor (I think) overnight Bell tower was one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life, full stop. On a day when I literally could not walk, you made me feel safe and happy. Also huge thanks to Dr. Rahim. The depths of his care, concern and interest in his patient's well being have no bounds. All of the doctors and nurses that I experienced were amazing. You all are worthy of 5 stars and beyond. 2. The bad. Office staff / administration.”
