“Nothing but good things to say about this gym. Started this month after taking 5+ years off from working out. Staff is helpful and friendly and the facility is first class. Lots of different skill levels in the gym but everyone can finish the workout!”

“This is absolutely the best place with the best people--let me tell whoever is reading this how I got here!

I had zero athletic experience. Some people say that and then you find out they did a sport in high school. Not I. I had never done any sort of sport and had little experience working out--I only ever really biked. I had never lifted a weight in my life.

There were two things that made me decide to reach out on Crossfit's website. The first is that at 24 I was supposed to be in the best shape of my life, but instead I was struggling to keep a healthy weight and taking a ton of supplements just to have the energy to get through the day. The second is that I went through a mental health crisis in 2023 where I did not want to leave my house--the crisis lasted about three months. My therapist suggested Crossfit to me (for three years actually before I took her advice), and so I finally reached out.

They were immediate in their response, and had a number I could text (I don't really like talking on the phone). I went to On-Ramp a few weeks later, and Dave and Bridget were extremely patient with me. After On-Ramp I started to attend classes and met: Laura, the other Bridget, Katie, Mitch, Joe, DeLo, and so many friends who all made me feel incredibly welcomed. They cheered me on and didn't make me feel embarrassed once, even when I couldn't do anything they could do.

All this to say, Crossfit (at least at Unconquered) is for EVERYONE. I think a lot of people just picture the crazy good athletes who make it to the games and think they could never do that. Well, I'm here to tell you that you can. There are scaled options for everyone, and it is always so much fun. And today, I medaled in a competition for the first time!

I honestly can't imagine starting a workout journey anywhere except Crossfit. I would not have known what to do at a regular gym. To everyone at Unconquered, thank you so much for welcoming me in, and I'm here to stay forever!”

“This is my go-to gym on base! It may look old on the outside, but don’t let it deceive you because the equipment is new and this place has everything you need! Staff are always friendly and willing to help if needed. The locker rooms are a little out of date but the staff make sure it’s as clean as possible. It can get pretty crowded during lunch time, but I have seen a lot worse. There is no pool at this location, but they do have a lot of equipment for heavy lifting and those people who like to do that CrossFit stuff. Even though I always wear my own headphones it would be nice if they had some music playing every day for those random days I forget mine. Other than that this place is a great spot to get your lift on!”

“membership is free for the first 12 months at the Providence YMCA. if you sign up online and come in to enroll they will take a picture and issue you and ID card. then you have to make no payments for the first year as long as you use your membership. if you don't use the membership and then call and cancel before the 12 months is up, then you will lose your deferred penance and will owe all of the months remaining for the 12-month period other than that they offer great activities they have great amenities”

“Great facility and friendly staff. The weight area isn’t the biggest but it gets the job done. The pool/swim area is very spacious and family friendly. They also have a sauna and steam room.”
