“Both Shana and Chantelle were very pleasant and helpful. The rental process was easy, and the pricing is very competitive. We also like the east side of town as a convenient location.
Update re: move-out
Communication is not their strong suit. And only being open one day a week meant I could not give the notice that I had wanted to in person while on site. I expected to be able to talk to a real person at the office about the correct procedure. Yes, I'm old school and I still expect to be able to talk to someone in person at the office or at least by phone. It finally got taken care of but should have been simpler.
The unit itself was perfect, and the gate always worked properly. The introductory rate was great, but when it went up to almost $200/month, that felt steep (I don't know what anybody else charges) so I'm glad we got everything moved out the month after the rate increase.”

“B C & R Storage Company and Matt, went above and beyond to help us when we were in a difficult situation. We were having an issue with a load that had been loaded incorrectly at the original shipper, leaving us overweight on the trailer and unable to slide the tandems far enough to meet the receiver’s requirements. The receiver would not accept the load, and we could not find anyone else in the area willing to help.
Matt stepped in and allowed us to bring the truck to his facility, unload enough of the product so we could properly adjust the tandems, and then reload the freight correctly. He was extremely helpful, professional, and willing to work with us when we needed it most.
I cannot thank Matt and his team enough. They could have easily turned us away, but instead they took the time to help us solve the problem and get back on the road.

“The whole process of getting the unit was flawless, but I was told that it would be cleaned out. The floor was full of dirt when we opened up the unit. Other than that though access to the unit has been fine and the space is what we needed.”
“We rented a Site Box container to move contents of our garage into, for a garage floor repair. PODS didn't have a Topeka location, and U-Haul containers were way too small. So we called SiteBox. They didn't have the smaller size container available that we requested, so they gave us the next size up for the small-size price, which was so awesome! After renting online, they gave an immediate follow-up call to make sure all the details were correct, confirmed the delivery date, and explained that the driver would contact us prior to delivery. That is exactly what happened. The driver showed up on time, was very professional, thorough in explaining everything. He placed it exactly where we wanted it, close to the garage door so we could have easy access moving things in. Just a very pleasant experience overall, and having this storage container will make the repair project go smoothly for us. We are very pleased and would happily recommend them to anyone who needs this type of help.”

“Areas are always clean and cleared for our cars or trucks. I like that they are proactive with mouse control traps around the outside of the units. I do wish the exit code box was higher for access. The only negative is once Uplift took over my rent went from $100 to over $200. Sigh.”
“This is hands down one of the best storage facilities I've ever used in the country and easily the best in Lawrence. It is new and that is a bonus. The office administration and management is excellent. I enjoy the ability to access my unit around office hours with the security and knowledge that someone is available if necessary. The location is perfect for wherever you may live and especially if you are a student at KU looking for a solution, short or long term, to store your things where college living can be restrictive in terms of closet space. You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain in choosing Climate Storage in Lawrence!”
“Updating. After leaving several SMS messages, I received a call back. I explained my attempts to contact them and that I had been invoiced for an additional month that I wasn't using. The person I spoke to was apologetic and undid the charge for the extra month. I appreciated the ease of the conversation and the quick correction. Hopefully the company will address the communication problems.They were great when we were getting the storage unit rental established. However, I am beginning to wonder if not returning phone calls when the customer is ready to end the storage agreement is part of the business plan. I placed 3 phone calls notifying them and requesting a return call. But I never get one. In the meantime, I am being charged for an additional month. No one ever answers the phone and all business is by appointment only. Placed another call today. The voice mail is full.”

We initially had some difficulty figuring out where our locker was and getting into it so I called for help. Nina called back right away and walked me through everything I needed to do. She even stayed on the phone with me until I found the unit and was able to get inside. She turned a very stressful situation into a really great one. Best customer support ever!”
