About Orpheum Theatre
The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Wichita is a historic and beautiful performing arts center built in 1922. Designed by architect John Eberson, it is the first atmospheric theatre in the United States. The theatre hosts a variety of events, including music, dance, and theatre, attracting both local and national performers. Visitors appreciate its charming character, rich history, and stunning architecture, which make every event feel special. The venue offers great parking and friendly staff, with most seats providing a good view. The theatre has a cozy, intimate atmosphere, ideal for concerts and performances, and is loved by many for its nostalgic charm. Some reviews note that the theatre has steep steps and can be slightly crowded or have overpriced snacks, but these are minor concerns compared to the overall positive experience. Many visitors have fond memories here, and there is hope that the theatre's beauty and character will be preserved during any repairs or restorations. Overall, the Orpheum Theatre is a treasured cultural landmark in Wichita.
Been there numerous times. 1st time my Dad took my brother & I when we were 9 & 11 to see a movie. That was 60 years ago. Still love the feel of the place. After it opens this summer. I sure hope it remains open.

The cinema offers a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. The seats were soft and perfect for long movies, and the whole place was spotless. The staff made sure everything was in order and were always ready to assist. A great experience overall.
