“I'm from a little town in western NY. Earlier this month we came to KY for my mother in laws' family reunion. On the way down the tailpipe broke due to rust and age. I went to one of the national chain shops in Frankfort for repairs. I had to leave it over night (Monday) and I was told they would call me in the AM with an estimate. At 2 PM the next day (Tuesday), I called to see what the holdup was. They claimed that they didn't have a hoist tall enough to work on it. I have a 1992 Ford E-150 van. Nothing really special about it. When I asked why no one had called, I was told they were "really swamped with business". I picked up the van and went back to my mother in laws. I was telling a neighbor my sad tale of woe, and he told me about Proctor's Garage in Harrodsburg. I had to wait until the next day (Wednesday) to call.for an appointment. The man said to be there at 8 AM the next day. That brings us to today,Thursday July 24, 2014. We arrived at about 7:45. There were several men in the office. I soon figured they were friends that come every morning for coffee and friendship. I was told later that it is a 7 day a week thing, even Sunday before church. Most left just before 8. Mr. Proctor went into the shop and at 8:03 He drove my van onto the lift. Mind you, up until now, we never spoke. Mine was the only NY van in front of one of his 2 bays, and he knew what he had to do. Let me tell you...I feel we were in the presence of greatness. Within about 1/2 hour he was completely finished. A new muffler was installed and he bent the tailpipe from a single straight piece of stock. It was a pleasure to watch him work. I was outside at the rear of the van looking in. Customers aren't allowed in the work area, for insurance reasons I'd say. When we went to the office to pay for his service, being that I was from out of state, I thought I might be taken advantage of. After all, it has been known to happen ! I was pleasantly surprised at his price. I would HIGHLY recommend this service station for anything they might do. Paul W. Harris Bergen, NY”
“I took my 1980 Honda cb650 to this shop. I had the carbs rebuilt/two new tires put on/ break caliper looked at and a few other odds and ends done. I rode it home and it runs great.
To be completely honest I was annoyed at first by how long it took for him to work on my bike BUT the quality of work and professionalism outweighed MY lack of patience.
He is a one man shop so that’s why it takes a little longer but it’s worth the wait because he does the work right.
He also asked me to message him when I got home to let him know if I had any issues.
To sum it up.
He’s an excellent mechanic on motorcycles and has extremely reasonable prices on material and labor and is out to try to help you get the best deal and save money but yet get the work done right!”

“I have been a customer of Timmy’s for several years. He has always been honest, fair in price, and does great work. He is always up front about what he can and cannot do for service, and is willing to make referrals when needed. You will not find a better price on tires, brakes, mufflers, tune ups, front end work, alignments, etc. One time I took a car to a dealer service department for an oil change. This dealer told me I needed all sorts of additional work. Took it to Timmy with the list of “recommended repairs” for a second opinion. Found out I had been lied to. His work is high quality and he uses high quality parts. You can trust Timmy.”
