“It’s so awesome to have a local indie bookstore that sells international literature. SQecial has stuff you’d never find on the shelves at Half Price, Joseph Beth, or Barnes & Noble. They also regularly update their clearance section with great authors too. My only wish is that they’d expand the book sections and compress the gift-shop side — although that stuff is mostly great too!”
“I had a wonderful experience at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington today. This is an amazing bookstore with a great atmosphere, a huge selection of books, and very helpful staff.
I visited specifically to look for geography books and was impressed by the variety and quality of the collection. I ended up buying a couple of excellent books and really enjoyed browsing through the store. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better.
If you are in Lexington and love books, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for academic books, leisure reading, or simply a great bookstore experience.”

“Very large used book store, was able to find many books missing from my sci-fi collection even though the section was relatively small. As usual, the largest section was romance. Some of the author category placements don't make sense, but the have a full inventory to look up so you can find what your looking for.”

“I graduated just over 5 years ago from Transy. Kristi Bowerman, the bookstore manager, was always a welcoming and positive person who was constantly helping students figure out their courses required materials. Shortly after I graduated, my family lost almost all of our belongings in a house fire. I visited Transy and replaced some spirit ware. Kristi remembered me by name and asked how my family was, and did so every year or so when I would come back to visit Transy. Kristi, more than almost anyone else, has continued to make me feel a part of the Transy Community and I couldn’t imagine my Alma Mater without her.”

“We had a good experience. Actually they sent two checks by accident. I called to let them know and we just destroyed one and cashed one. They would only allow one to be cashed anyways, but we are honest and if they wanted us to send it back we would of, but instead they said to just shred the second check. So we did. I got through quickly and they were helpful”
