“It’s so awesome to have a local indie bookstore that sells international literature. SQecial has stuff you’d never find on the shelves at Half Price, Joseph Beth, or Barnes & Noble. They also regularly update their clearance section with great authors too. My only wish is that they’d expand the book sections and compress the gift-shop side — although that stuff is mostly great too!”
“I had a wonderful experience at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington today. This is an amazing bookstore with a great atmosphere, a huge selection of books, and very helpful staff.
I visited specifically to look for geography books and was impressed by the variety and quality of the collection. I ended up buying a couple of excellent books and really enjoyed browsing through the store. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better.
If you are in Lexington and love books, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for academic books, leisure reading, or simply a great bookstore experience.”
“I like Barnes and Noble very much for creating a calm, peaceful environment to explore what nourishes your soul.
However, sometimes it is not price competitive and there are cheaper options available online.
The cafe inside of the store looks very nice and warm.”
“Open for in store shopping, cheap but quality books. Buy or sell. Nicholasville Rd. location has $1 paperbacks, $2 at Hamburg. Glad to order books if they don't have them in stock. Bring your own bag!”

“What can you say about the beauty, calm, tranquil, and lovely architecture and environment of the best bookstore and student center in the United States…other than it’s amazing. Go Big Blue!”
“This place is amazing! It looks deceptively small from the outside, but I spent an hour in there just looking around! I will definitely be going back (regularly).”
“Love it. Feels like a treasure hunt! Great prices and an eclectic selection. You might not find quite what your looking for but you will find something. At a great price too.”
“Very large used book store, was able to find many books missing from my sci-fi collection even though the section was relatively small. As usual, the largest section was romance. Some of the author category placements don't make sense, but the have a full inventory to look up so you can find what your looking for.”

“thank you all so much for your teaching of the Gospel rather than an interpretation. hearing the Christ's lessons of the camel and the needle, the storing of treasures in Heaven and not on earth, and the sermon of the two masters feels like they were meant for these times. my favorite message of your congregation was the inspiring realization that the Kingdom of Heaven was in me all along. God bless you all and please keep loving each other”
“I graduated just over 5 years ago from Transy. Kristi Bowerman, the bookstore manager, was always a welcoming and positive person who was constantly helping students figure out their courses required materials. Shortly after I graduated, my family lost almost all of our belongings in a house fire. I visited Transy and replaced some spirit ware. Kristi remembered me by name and asked how my family was, and did so every year or so when I would come back to visit Transy. Kristi, more than almost anyone else, has continued to make me feel a part of the Transy Community and I couldn’t imagine my Alma Mater without her.”
“This place is a great hole in the wall, I can’t believe I didn’t find them sooner! Unbelievable prices, friendly staff, nice music, and a very clean space.”
“Most amazing bookstore in Lexington!!! John is friendly and knowledgeable. He has a great selection of Kentuckiana and, surprisingly, Floridian books. Highly recommend!!!”
“Very nice and friendly employees so far. And it’s been a while since I have been but plan on coming here again if I had to decide where of this type of entertainment I wanted to spend my money on. But also know if ur first time don’t be surprised all u get the first visit cause second visits can be more fun or more tamed or same just saying”

“Perfect experience. I found the book that I needed for a great price. The shipping was super fast and the book was packaged well and in good condition. Highly recommend.”
“We had a good experience. Actually they sent two checks by accident. I called to let them know and we just destroyed one and cashed one. They would only allow one to be cashed anyways, but we are honest and if they wanted us to send it back we would of, but instead they said to just shred the second check. So we did. I got through quickly and they were helpful”
“This is by far the most eclectic and vast book collection I’ve ever seen—truly a book lover’s dream destination! In addition, the ambience is cozy and inviting. The charming owner is funny, smart, and helpful. Come prepared to spend a lazy afternoon browsing the stacks and soaking up the atmosphere!”
