“Not from the area, but was visiting a nearby state park on May 21st when I stopped in around 7 PM to purchase a soft drink. I was not having a very good day; however, when I walked through the door the cashier, Jessica, gave me a sincere, welcomed greeting. I went to the cooler, grabbed my drink, and approached the counter. Jessica again asked me how I was doing or how my day was going. She was so nice and kind (you could tell she was sincere and not just doing a job by pretending or faking). She actually made my not so good day, much better. A person may never know the impact they have on someone's life.”

My hat’s off to this Valero near the Walmart DC in London, Kentucky. I’m giving credit where it’s due. It’s right down the road from the DC and has a decent amount of FREE truck parking. Yes, I said it… FREE truck parking.
If some of you want to complain about the bathrooms or how the place looks, feel free to fire up that rig and go drive 30 minutes down the road fighting Kentucky traffic during rush hour, hoping you find a spot at a big chain truck stop. Knock yourselves out.
For those of us that actually think ahead, this place works just fine.
You’ve got a Budget Host Inn right across the street if you want to get out of the truck and sleep in a real bed for the night.
Within walking distance you’ve also got McDonald’s, Shiloh Steakhouse, Taco Bell, Waffle House, an authentic Mexican restaurant, and even a Long John Silver’s.
If you’re feeling fancy there’s also a Fairfield Inn and a Hampton Inn across the street as well, bit more of a walk, but visible .
Some days I want to get out of the truck myself. Other days I’m perfectly fine kicking back in the cab and calling it a night.
After my appointment at the Walmart DC all day it felt good to get out at a decent hour, walk across the street, grab something to eat, and actually relax for once.
So yeah… thank you Valero. Drivers who know how to appreciate a good setup will understand.”
