“After moving to Lawrenceburg in August, I had driven past this shop numerous times and wanted to check it out. I finally did a couple weeks ago. The owner is so kind and so friendly. His wife makes the baked goods which is so cool. There are local & Amish goods galore. There is truly something for everyone here, and if you need a good gift for someone (especially a Kentuckian) this is the place to go. Can’t wait to return!”

I was taken there for Christmas dinner by my manager and wanted to be respectful to him so I ordered. My steak was prepared as I asked, it was very good. The waiter was amazing. “I have been shopping at my local Dollar General for almost 20 years. The staff has changed over time, but the backbone of the store has always been very hard working Women. It’s not uncommon to have Ladies near retirement age. They unload their trucks that come in, (the tractor trailer arrives and there is no one to lug the tons of product out of the very hot and or extremely cold trailers). There are usually 2 exhausted Ladies on the schedule. That’s it! The process of unloading the truck, takes place at the same time the store is open, and all the while, they have to run back to the floor to run the registers and assist customers. I have never worked there, and do not personally know any of these employees outside of the store. I do know, that merchandise is often seasonal, and moves quickly out the door. So the customer at times becomes needy, and has to ask where products are located. Yes, there is product on big carts, in the aisles, as these items have just arrived on the truck, and has to be stocked properly . I have asked for assistance many times. Promptly professionally, with a smile I have always been guided to my requested item. These Ladies must make a minimum of $25 an hr, to start. Providing the labor of 3 or 4 hardworking employees. If they don’t, they should be. I rely on my Local Dollar General. It’s a great little 2021 , 5 & dime store. Very profitable. I gave 5 stars to the employees. Can’t say the same for the CEO.Thank you.S. Clifford.”

“I just wanted to give Kudos to the Deli department. My order was taken down by a new employee and some how was changed from what I needed to something else. I needed a meat tray to serve to our management team at my company. It was wrong instead of just meats and cheeses it was sandwiches. I needed meats and cheeses and more than was on that platter. Without a blink or a pause three people started working on correcting the platters I needed and within 5 to 10 minutes they had it corrected and even helped me to the register with them. I wanted to say thanks again for the great effort from this team today. Very much appreciate the help making it to my luncheon only a few minutes late.”

“I had excellent service at the Lawrenceburg Walmart today. I stopped by in a crutch for time and I asked the door greeter for the product I was in search of. He looked it up on his phone and sent me directly to what I needed. The service was great I grabbed what I needed and headed back out the door. The door greeter was a super nice guy.”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
